Well, I didn't quite get around to making my shampoo bar this weekend *sighs* Oh well, maybe next weekend.

Today is my birthday! :ya I'm 31 today, so I'm officially into my 30's.

Well, over the weekend, I cooked two huge bags of apples and sauced them. The sauce is sitting in a giant pot on my front porch right now, which is colder than the refrigerator. It's been getting very cold here lately. Most of the garden is toast now because we have had a couple hard frosts now. The kale and lettuce are still good though, so I'm still harvesting lots of that.

I made sourdough starter, and it was ready yesterday. I put it in the frig, so I will be making my first-ever loaf of sourdough bread this week. My next adventure will be potato bread!

Last night I made a small batch of spaghetti sauce with some of our garden tomatoes and did it ever smell good! I used basil from my garden and the whole house smelled just wonderful. I wanted to add some Italian sausage to it, but I can't find any that is nitrite free!

And finally, I used the last of the cucumbers that I picked before they died to make some fermented pickles. They are sitting on the counter right now working their magic.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! :)
Happy birthday! Remember, 30's is the new 20's! :D Your barely older than I am :)

Happy birthday!

(Oh, and you're not old--I just turned 40 and we had some friends over on Saturday, some of which called me a young thing still as they are hurtling toward 50--so it's all relative ;))

Happy, Happy Birthday!! I turned 50 in June- you are no where near old!! (and neither am I!) Whenever I think about getting old, I remember a charming woman in her 90's that I met. She had a huge garden, that she watered by hand- with a watering can!! Never met a healthier woman, or saw a more beautiful garden!

Thank you for the birthday wishes! :hugs They really made me smile. :)

I know I'm not that old. It's just weird being in my 30s now. Someone told me that you're in the "prime of your life" in your 30s, so I guess I better start living like it!

Funny birthday quote:

You know you're getting old when you get that one candle on the cake. It's like, "See if you can blow this out."

Happy Birthday! :clap

Don't dread your 30s... or your 40s! Those are good years. Your body still works good enough to do all the projects you want!

I hit 40 in March and I could SO kick my 20 year old butt big time. That is if I met my 20 year old self , Back to the Future style or something. I LOVE being 40. Your not old, just getting better.

I hated turning 30!!!
but all the rest have been pretty easy! I don't want to go back, either!)

My 88 yr old mother said that she didn't feel old until she was 70. LOL

Happy birthday Calendula!
