LOL We got 2" of snow, it was 18 degrees. I suited up this morning to do the boiling water bucket thing. I put on flannel lined blue jeans, a thermal shirt, my sweat shirt my momma bought me in Scotland in 1980 that is so warm that I wear it maybe one day a year. Over that I put on Carhart overalls and my parka. I put a yellow smiley face knit hat on and pulled up the parka hood. I put on my blanket lined leather gloves. Then I lurched outside to meet the elements.:lol:

You funny  - 18 degrees I walk outside in a tee-shirt and bare feet and yes I'm serious. I can't stay outside long though because pain on my toes and fingers sets in reminding me I got frost bit when I was a kid.

My husband and I walked around for awhile, just enjoying the snow.

Supposed to go to 14 degrees tonight, freeze all the roads and be dangerous tomorrow. On the news tonight was a clip of Interstate 20 between Canton and Lindale-a solid line of 18 wheelers with a few unlucky cars thrown in-that can't go anywhere because of the ice on the road. TX-DOT was trying to sand the Interstate so the trucks could move.

Schools closed again tomorrow.

Texas knows how to throw a SNOW PARTY! Snow, cover everything up, ice all over and we all go out to PLAY! The stupid ones go have wrecks and boost the body shops business. Then, before we are REAL sick and tired of it all, it melts and goes away. Gonna be 65 degrees on Saturday.

That's pretty drastic. We were - 13 last night and will be 45 Saturday. Weird weather!

Be safe tomorrow! Ice is way worse than snow. Even my fancy northern snow tires don't help much in ice, lol

Do you have forced air heat? If so you might want to check the pipes, it could be a leaky or disconnected pipe under the house.

Naw, we have wood heat, but the stove is out in the cabin, built onto a trailer...so the heat has to travel through a connecting room~the foyer~through a small hallway, then T off to a master bedroom on the right and the rest of the trailer on the left...and way at the end is my room.

We've never used the furnace in this trailer and they've owned it for 26 yrs.

This will give you an idea how far the wood heat has to travel...the stove is towards the front of this cabin extension.

I'm not complaining, though...I'd roast like a suckling pig if I had to be much closer to that stove, especially at night. I like to sleep cool.

We ended up getting about an inch of snow, but the temperature didn't drop below freezing, even overnight :idunno NOT complaining though! Our roads are a bit of a mess, but school's open and everything's going as normal.
