It rained all around us yesterday evening. When I say all around us, that's exactly what I meant. Not a drop fell here and we are starting week 8 with no measurable rain. Needless to say, it's bone dry. My neighbor is getting combine ready to start harvesting.

Flag raised full staff yesterday eve. Don't be fooled by the rain clouds, not a drop of rain fell from them. You can see the bean field is all brown and ready to be harvested soon. It ain't going to grow anymore.


Moo Crew is doing well... We have 8 head on the pasture now. 3 cows, 2 hefier calves, 2 steers and romeo the bull. As you can see bessey is as friendly as ever. We've been putting heightened awareness on keeping the water full and hay in the ring. You can see the pasture is brown from when I bush hogged it last week. I left the bottom pasture standing for them to graze. Once cool season grasses start to grow again, I'll bush hog the lower pasture.


None of that other stuff is of much importance...

However Luke Chapter 6, now that's a tough one.

I can assure you, while they can do that, they don't. Well when belching up cud to chew, maybe. But when scoffing down food, it doesn't happen.

Plus, I've never burped 30 times in any day. Really? Can't believe anyone does. IDK.

@murphysranch that amaranth is gorgeous!! I have seed for a giant type -- gold heads -- but I got the seed to use heads for chicken feed. They love it. It's not lovely like those but, easy grow & amaranth is drought tolerant. This plant takes little care. Unfortunately my spring was too wet for a garden. First in 25 yr I've been here.

This just brings me to anxiety over the wait for spring again thoughts of a garden, fresh veggies.

I'm having my coffee, waking fully & watching more clouds roll in for an all day rain. An inch or more. I'll get everyone fed in a few, then they'll nap most the day. I'll be at work.

More light rains, all day....and it's cold! 58 at wake up only going to low/mid 60s. Geesh, winter today. Back to mid 70s tmrw & another week. That's good news

Since also chilly inside, 68*, I baked biscuits & fried sausage. Yeah, breakfast. Nice treat with my coffee.

42 Monday night. 105 yesterday. That was a wild swing for this time of year. We often frost mid September but not this year

Dry and warm here, we are well into week 8 with no measurable rain fall. I set out another hay round for the moo crew yesterday evening.

Everything is so dry... this is in stark contrast to the excessive wet winter and spring along with the two floods we had, then 2 weeks of massive heat and humidity.

My neighbors house developed black mold. They hired a mold removal company come in and they tore out some of the inside of the house. They also sprayed and dried it with heaters. Then my neighbors had the air in the house tested. The test reports came back positive. So there is still more the mold removal company has to remove.

Just for information sake, because I had no idea until recently. The mold removal comapny, sprayed the house with fiberlock IAQ 2000.

@Hinotori We were shocked it got up to 99 here. Weather all said it would be 90.

105 is brutal!!
