Brrrrrrr this morning. It's 44 degrees at wake-up. I've been waiting for this for a very long time but now that it's here...eeek! I need a couple days to adjust, lol. Winds were brutal yesterday - supposed to be calmer today. I'm counting on it - I've got things to do!

Spending for repairs is always a downer BUT it does help your mood when it's evident it solved the problem 👍

yes, it really does, we had a rattling noise coming from the car when we hit bumps and the mechanic never took me seriously when i asked him about getting it resolved. i guess he was too busy and didn't have the time? but he could have just said that? finally, Mom asked him to fix it and he did (after several years) and it was so much better (and well worth the price IMO)... we live on a bumpy road but also just in general for every little bump to hear that rattle was annoying to me and also to Mom. it has been a lot nicer to drive since then. :)

Had to leave the house this morning at 3:30 this morning to go into work to oversee a software application install. Dark and rainy, not 5 miles from home. Saw a deer just enough in advance to be able to just sideswipe it. No car damage, deer ran off. What a way to start the day
Yikes! So glad it wasn't worse!

Glad for you. I came home in the dark tonight -- dark roads with woods & crops and always active deer. Saw a few, none hit, I drive slow in those areas.

A couple weeks ago, my DS old gf was about 1/2 mile from my house -- about 9pm on a harley --. Hit a deer. Someone found her soon after & called 911. Broken ankle, ribs, facial bones, base of skull. They induced a coma for 3 days. She's got screws & plates, a jaw wired shut, lots of pain. Shame. Hate to see it but, I've told her don't ride at night! 😵‍💫

My dogs attempted suicide last night. Ate some of the tube of hubby's skin cancer cream. I caught one with it and just rushed them to emergency vet. Highly toxic. 30% survival rate. They seem to have beaten the odds because I got them vet help so fast. Still under observation until tomorrow morning. Then bloodwork every 3 days for a month

How did they access the tube?

Glad you caught it and rushed to vet!! What did they do to treat? Being a cream, I'd think it dissolved in their mouth 😖. Would seem difficult to remove. That's scary---waiting. :fl

I think one counter surfed. I was getting stuff ready to put on hubby after his shower and turned my back.

Even licking this stuff off the owner has killed small dogs. It crosses the blood brain barrier and causes seizures in first 24 hours. Most deaths are within 12. Gastric distress is usually first sign of poisoning. It suppresses stem cells in bone marrow for a time when ingested. Hence the bloodwork. May need antibiotics as will be more susceptible for a time.

There is a decent amount of literature on it. Cats it's always fatal.

There is one antidote but it's 70k a dose and can take several doses. Only used for humans, normally children ingesting it.
