i'm not sure where you are located or what your soils are like there, but to keep acidic soil loving plants going in tougher places you can plant on mounds of amended soils to help keep the plants happier, but that also means you have to make sure they get enough moisture and yet not too much...

i suspect we set another record of some sort for how much rain we had last month. i think we had water over the road three times at least in April. normally that happens about once every few years. Jan was 7th wettest since records were kept and Mar was 3rd wettest...

it was sunny windy and warm here too today. nice day for doing something that didn't involve fabric or plastic blowing in the breeze (unless i were flying a kite perhaps, but i wasn't :) )...

i'm glad it didn't get run over by someone running a lawn mower. sometimes one of the neighbors will mow on their big riding lawn mower along the road (1/4 mile to a 1/2 mile on each side). looked it up, $25 for the bottle.

i went out to look at the killdeer eggs in a nest. one of the parents (probably the Momma) was standing over them while it was plenty warm out with the sun she was actually shading them to keep them cooler. this birdie knows us as she was much tamer than some from the past who have had nests...

we got this new weed wacker because Mom wanted to use it. will she use it? no. i can go one charge with it at a time which is about an hour. if i am moving i can do most of what needs to get done in that hour. do i want to do it? no. does it get done? so far twice a year for trimming...

moodles of noodles and tomato chunks and cheesy potatoes (sometimes together). been pretty basic eats here and i'm quite ok with all of it. i think this weekend it is sloppy joes.
