    2026 Resolutions

Since this is a "more clutter cleaned up" type post, I thought I would drop it here. Got all of the old paperwork stuff shredded...2+ kitchen bags. Only thing not belonging in my office is a tote of personal care items the wife needs to go through. Small steps continue

    What do you forage?

The only thing here I can gather are black walnuts. I was thinking about this topic and decades ago, I spent hours gathering berries and mushrooms. The land was basically old pastures let go. Those properties are all basically forested now or sprouting houses. Not a lot of options. The look...

    Penny pinching

Yes, it is intimidating. A quality large pressure canner (All American) can be pricey. Back in the day, with a family of five, even a large canner was not enough to keep up. If you are wary of the process, might I suggest getting a small (5-7 quart electric canner)? My now wife was terrified...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

This concrete patio/sidewalk thing is driving me nuts. Local guy (like 2 miles down the road) went small on everything and says he is cash only. Had a another (5th!) contractor come out for an estimate last night. He actually said he would not pour a set of steps we requested for the sliding...
