SO happy you figured out his situation. Water...I just got started with my rabbits....I have a black buck and an albino doe. They are just under a year old...so not together ... yet!
I noticed this morning that their water bottles are still full....I need to go check on THAT situation in a bit...
Holy crap woman!! I sure don't want to get on your bad side... :hide And to think, I was pretty proud of myself for throwing and stacking 30 bales of hay! Ha! Popcorn compared to the work you are doing there. Be proud, you can outwork MOST men!!!!
@Bee....I have been on " the dark side" for just about a year now. I had been having "issues" with my bowels.....a friend asked if I was drinking cows milk, and even though I had not been drinking it, some times I would have oats with milk on it....or cooking gravy and such.....so she...
So, the other day hubby was talking with a guy he works with, about gardening and canning. Hubby was telling him how I can everything I can get my hands on, and make jellies....and jams with anything I can! So he asks hubby...." do you all like blackberries" Yup, hubby said...when we can find...
Thanks Deb, I don't want to take to much milk from her...just want to relieve the pressure, right!?? I mean, the kids are drinking...I watch them...but she is producing way more than they can drink...i think.
Hey Buff, congrats on your Alpine!! I have an Alpine...and LOVE her! I use an old manger for milking in...one side is a solid wall...and I tether her collar while I milk. She gets a pound of feed for every pound of milk given. ( So she gets about 4 cups when she doesnt have kids on her) After...
Last weekend, my Alpine Suzie gave birth to 2 little ones. A doeling and a buckling. Everything went smooth...quick...and I was relieved. My fear is...before she had the kids, when I put her feed in, she would gobble it up ASAP! Now, her breakfast will last her all day...sometimes at dinnertime...
Thanks Snapshot....they are getting more active each day. Today I was out there with them for a few minutes....and the little boy was rubbing up on my legs...wanting lovin. LOL
Oh, I am proud grandma! LOL Now I have to decide what to do with them. The little doeling...will be pygmy size, I am pretty sure. She had the waddles under her chin, and is quite a bit smaller than the buckling. Now the Buckling, might be Alpine size. I might just have him banded....and keep him...
So today I have been inside mostly....Thunderstorms. YUK! I did get a few minutes to go sit with the babies.....They are looking good, strong, and at 48 hrs old, trying to pip pop around a bit.
Here is the boy...curious one he is....whatcha think, will the ears stay floppy or straighten out...
Thanks everyone.....we really thought there would be 3 or 4.....However, I am SUPER happy with just the 2.
Everyone is doing just fine... I will have to do some animal rearranging so I can get them in a different stall, with a yard.
So....on the SS front....I am pretty sure we are finished with...
So, last night....was the "super moon" We all know how that can affect farm animals....right!? So, about 10:30 pm, I decided to go out and do one last check on Suzie...My pregnant doe. She was in labor!!! Her fluid sack was hanging...and it wasn't long before we had...
A Doeling...
And a...
I was thinking of the tote....but I am looking for ease of storage...smaller bales are easier to carry...and for the rabbits...one bale is just the right size. I can easily store 3 to 4 hundred this size, in different areas of the barn or chicken coop. Still nothing on Suzie....holding tight as...
Well, I put Suzie back in the outer stall. She has access to a small yard...and better air flow. I just couldn't keep her in the barn where it is so hot! Still nothing....maybe she was waiting to get back in her regular stall? I don't know....so far, nothing! I was able to get another...
Oh, Im not "barn sitting" She has kidded before with no problems, and that time she was bred to another Alpine. This time she is bred to a pygmy...so I doubt there will be any issues....other than the babies might not be able to reach to nurse. I just want to be there, and see those babies...
