Hmm interesting thought!
I'll be curious to see what people say about this one...
I unplug big power-suckers like the oven when they're not in use, that helps too. I think some stuff sucks like 40% power even in the resting position. :barnie
The cake came out fantastic!
Very moist and yummy. I served it with sliced strwberries and a bit of whipped cream with mexican vanilla in it.
My only complaint is that I didn't puree the beans enough. I only have an electric mixer, no blender. There was an occasional bean particle, but no...
I knew the beans had to be cooked! :he
I just didn't know if it meant to soak and prepare 2 cups dry beans, or use two cups soaked and prepared beans. Two very different quantities. :P
Naturally as soon as I posted this, I saw the recipe detail bit about how one can beans can be used instead of soaked dry ones.
Must have read that page 50 times, and NOW I see it...

Thinking of you still :hugs

Well, I understand about spending too much time online, but we're going to miss you!
You've directed me to a lot of interesting articles that I enjoyed reading, I hope you still come visit sometimes :)
There used to be a resource on a website out there somewhere (I think it was sponsored by they-who-shall-not-be-named), and if you signed their "veg pledge", they'd send you 6 issues of a great vegetarian cooking magazine. Googling veg pledge would probably pull it up.
I watch the carbs, so...
I had a thought about pad thai.
I often use eggplant in place of noodles in italian dishes. I take the potato peeler and go to town on an eggplant. It's more fun if you giggle madly while doing it.
I then steam the shreds and just use those instead of noodles.
I've had some scary-yummy thai...
