I too have rain barrels, three total. Only last year and this year we are way above average on rainfall, 8-9 inches so far this year alone. Mine are also olive barrels from Greece bought at the local Orschelins farm and home and painted a cream color. I set mine up because I planted a dozen new...
I did the EXACT same thing in our house, a 1930's farm house, after removing all lathe and plaster I found the insulation was shredded newspaper and was all laying, covering only about 12 inches at the bottom! THe old timers around here said shredded newspaper was the norm back than. No wonder...
I did not read through the whole thread but here is a video from you tube, just type in bucket mouse trap, this bucket had water in the bottom to drown the mouse but you do not need to add water. If you have these basic materials and some peanut butter it would be a good trap...
The shotgun will "buck your shoulder" no matter the size, a small shotgun such as the 410 will buck a little while a 12 gague, can kick like a mule! I once saw my aunt shoot a 12 gague down into the river from the banks above and it lifted her right off the ground! As stated earlier the 10/22...
I also vote for the Ruger 10/22, you can pick one up at Wal Mart for about $150.00, ammo is cheap, and if you have any pawn shops they seem to always have some, a 410 shotgun you would have to be pretty close to kill something, that was my first gun, a 20 gague would be better than a 410 in my...
White vinegar in the rinse dispenser - How much do you use? and only white vinegar? and do you use straight vinegar? I am starting outside line drying and would like to use a natural softener, thanks in advance!
Another thing we'll do is buy a box of pancake mix, make the whole box and freeze the pancakes in empty bread bags, kids love the pancakes and this usually last 2 weeks and you can buy a box of pancake mix at Aldis for a little over a dollar.
I would ask the bank to lower your interest rate on your credit card. I did a car loan over the phone w/my bank and when finished she asked if there was anything else she could do for me, I asked rather slyly if she could lower my credit card interest rate and she said hold on. A few minutes...
Thanks VT-Chicklit. I'll be going to the city in a couple weeks so i'll go to HD and check. The ceiling fan lights are the only ones I have yet to replace. Thanks again!
I got lucky, our electric coop did a trade in of our old bulbs for 12 cfl bulbs for free! But I have been unable to find a cfl bulb for a dimmer switch for our ceiling fans, do they make one?
