    Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

I know this threads kind of old. But, I just wanted to say that I loved this book. I loaned my copy out to a friend and I can't wait to get it back. My books are like babies. At least the ones I enjoy. :) I too love the idea of life having certain rhythms to it. If I'm smart enough to slow down...

    101 uses for holey-heeled socks?

Hey, that's a pretty smart idea. I'll have to keep an eye out at the resale stores for a tiny loom. I use to have one when I was a kid. I wasn't really interested in it at the time. I don't even think I finished one potholder. I never would have though 20 years later I would be wishing I had...

    Radical Homemakers

Whew glad to know I was making some kind of sense. I'm a historical re-enactor. Which seems to attract a lot of SS gentlemen. So I know that a lot of great homemakers are men. In fact, out of all of our friends one of the sweetest families I can think of has a stay at home dad. I keep trying to...

    Ladies! Cut your own hair?

So do any of you ladies cut your own hair. This kept falling under the "I like doing things myself but, I'm not going that far" category. But, as usual I went that far. I was wondering around on the internet late one night (this is always bad for me :) ) and I found this video...

Turns out I DON'T hate pea soup....

Mmmmmm....I love pea soup. We usually make ours with dried salt pork. The seasonings on the pork get into the soup and aggghhh..*drool* My husband gets grossed out because I love to eat the fat. In fact I usually call it fat soup :D . When my husband has a snow day (he's a teacher) we always...

    Radical Homemakers

I guess I brought this all up because without this book I never would have realized that their are other people out there that live the way that my husband and I do. We are considered at best quaint and at worst "weird". At least were I'm from. Oh, and Thanks for having a newbie's back...

    Radical Homemakers

This book is not just for women. Men can be homemakers too. Here's the blurb on the back of the book: Mother Nature has shown her hand. Faced with climate change, dwindling resources, and species extinctions, most Americans understand the fundamental steps neccessary to solve our global...

    Radical Homemakers

Radical Homemakers is a book by Shannon Hayes. I purchase it over the summer. And I am still in love with it. I am continually going back to reread sections. I went through and highlighted a bunch of stuff. My husband looked at it and asked if highlighting was really necessary since apparently...
