We love all pups also. If my sil wouldn't have been a vet, we would probably have a slough of pound puppies instead of greyhounds. So many of the breeders are so worried that if greyhound racing stops, there will be no greyhounds to adopt. I somehow don't think it will disappear completely...
Because we live out in the boonies, we can't volunteer with our local greyhound adoption group as much as we would like. We did foster one track dog and it was a hoot. Eddie is such a big goof who absolutely is afflicted the the terrible toy hoarding disease. We watched him while his dad and...
I love all the pictures of the pups.
Roy and I have always had retired racing greyhounds as our canine "fur-kids". Actually, on our first (blind) date, Roy told me that he planned on adopting a greyhound once he had his own home. Our first greyhounds adopted us during the pre-digital age so I...
Deer hide around here. Not many were shot during deer season. Last year my husband got two and neither I nor my father-in-law even saw a tail. The most action I got was a hawk finally getting himself a red squirrel (that happened to be annoying me in the stand). This year, no one got a deer...
Odds are we will see about getting a nuisance permit if they are back in the spring and threaten the berry bushes that I want to plant. We already lost 2 mulberry and 4 apple trees to the deer. Now we have them each individually fenced so they are safe for now. But once they mature I am...
Believe me, if it was season we'd been out there with our guns. Today there were about 15 - 20 around.
I just want them gone when the weather warms up. I want to plant some fruit bushes (don't know what kind yet) out front. Don't want them eating them.
Today, one of the turkeys was trying...
Yesterday before we went out, I noticed a turkey in the front yard. Roy looked and didn't say Holy Turkeys! He said something else. There were about 50 turkeys coming out of the woods straight for the house and bird feeder.
They just kept coming and coming....
And this is the...
Thanks, I'll have to look at them. I haven't opened them up in more than three years so I can't even remember what they are. I will get back to you.

I have two treadle machines but I don't know how fill the bobbins with thread. Since I haven't looked at them in a while, I am not sure I know how to load them into the machine. They are torpedo shaped. I did it once by accident when I bought the first one about 20 years ago. Then Roy's...
Roy and I have been in retired racing greyhound adoption for more than 20 years. My "name" was always "Greygal", until I joined a board that already had a "Greygal". So I added Rhetts (as in Rhett's) in front of Greygal after our sweet and goofy boy we had at the time.

A bunch of birds were sent to a lab in Madison. The fireworks apparently spooked them and they crashed into buildings, cars, poles, etc causing blunt force trauma which killed them.

I know I saw a recipe for a homemade lotion bar somewhere here. Not a liquid lotion. I did a search and all I came up with was someone mentioning that they knew someone who made lotion bars.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Annette
My husband and I both have cell phones. We don't text or take pictures (even though we can). After I took pictures with the camera once, I found out that the software needed to get the pictures off is no longer available. We don't have a land line to the house, it was expensive enough getting...
I can't find the link on this board, but I did bookmark a site with instructions:
