Hi all!
I have been thinking about erecting a greenhouse, however, I just don't have the funds. I do, however, have a covered deck that is on the end of the (trailer) house that faces west, with one (short) side on the south.
What do you think about putting poly on the sides of the deck and...
I know that having a diagnoses is important to you, but you might save in the end by having a private lab do the tests and give you the results directly.
I am in the process of getting insurance. I mentioned that I was Gluten Free, and they were curious if I was diagnosed with Celiac. Both...
How does she do with watermelon or cucumbers? Those have a very high water ratio. Tomatoes, Squash, Peaches, cooked beans (like kidney or pinto) also contain a lot of water.
Awesome! Noted.
I will have to plant some next year...Mullein and garlic oil is a fantastic remedy for ear/nose/throat issues. (Just a couple drops in the ear canal does wonders!)
I just bought a couple microfiber dust cloths there, and I got the kids some paper to write on. Zip ties for the chickens so I know who is who. Gloves for the coop. Scissors. Sunglasses.
I won't buy food, drinks, or other consumables (cleaning solutions, cosmetics, toiletries) from there. Most...
Has anyone tried a brine?
My husband HATES liver-because it was always pan fried in flour, hard as a rock, etc. when his mother made it.
I am curious if one could submerge it in a brine
salt(1 tbsp)/
honey(2 tbsp-dissolved in hot water)/
(1 tbsp total) spice (pepper, garlic, maybe savory?)...
Note to self:
Grow plants with large, smooth leaves.

I have menstrual cloths that I use when I don't use my cup (heck, back in the olden days they used lemon rinds!), and I don't think my hubby would mind me using cloths for pee, but for the other stuff...yeah, we'd need leaves.
I used to get these wonderful patties when I went to a store in SD...the ingredients were:
Honey
Peppermint Oil
Unsweetened Dark Chocolate.
I would guess mixing the honey and P.O. together, then drip blobs onto parchment paper...put them into the fridge or freezer...once hard, dip them into the...
Leeks-pretty good
kale, collards, fennel-haven't tried. I like my lettuces!
Sushi-never have, never will (ok, never say never...) but no thanks, I'll pass!
Quinoa-Good-I want to eventually make noodles from the flour---very high in protein
millet, amaranth, polenta, kohlarbi-havent tried, but I...
My kids haven't really asked the difference, but they did ask me the other day what a nurse was. LOL. I had to explain that most nurses are people who are trained to help doctors and patients in hospitals and doctor's offices.
I consider Homeopathy as symptom treatment, and Naturopathy as...
I have been up planning my garden for the spring...I think I have gone off the deep end!
Here are the 4 companies I will probably get my seeds from (Most of them coming from the first one, then the second, etc.:

www.seedsofchange.com
www.seedsavers.org...
I have a question...does getting manure from animals that might be sick affect the compost? I am thinking this might be a viable option for me, but I don't know...
Also, does anyone know if the weed killers used on most pastures...does that show up in the manure?
I love eggnog with Rum. I make my own with a recipe that my mom gave me, and it isn't cooked-I have made some already using my girls' eggs!
My kids are Dairy-free, so they can't have it, but I will drink it until my heart's content!
I might have to make some now.
