Our water company is not very reliable so quite frequently we lose water. That is why we try to store a lot of water. We have ice storms in the winter, but our winters our not that harsh. My biggest concern, we live near a major interstate and a truck stop so I am concerned about chemical spills...
Every time I try to make popcorn in a pot, it usually burns. I am putting oil in the bottom of the pot so I am not really sure what I am doing wrong. It seems like the kernels are sticking to the bottom. I have ruined several good pots of mine just trying to make popcorn.
This is so easy, and I found that I could make this for a fraction of the cost for what I was paying for the Newman's brand.
Honey Mustard Dressing
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise...
I am sorry about your garden. We had a bad hail storm earlier in the spring that nearly destroyed everything in my garden. Well, I thought it was all ruined because that is the way it appeared. However, I was really surprised when most of the plants were able to recuperate.

When line drying, stiffness on clothes and towels does not bother me one bit. I can think of a million other things more important in this life besides that. :D
I would like to keep my goal fairly realistic and easy to achieve. Therefore, if I can significantly decrease my trips to the store (especially Walmart), then I will be satisfied.
We mostly use the water in the rain barrels to water the garden. It could also be used to flush toilets as well; but in an emergency situation, I would also use that water for drinking after properly treating and filtering it.
I agree with what some other people have said that water is one of the most important things to store for emergencies. However, it is a bulky thing to store, takes up a lot of space, and it is also heavy to carry. We were living in Pensacola during hurricane Ivan, and we were without power for...
