I pressure canned 2 batches of chili. Out of both batches only one jar sealed.
I have canned chili before without a problem Why wouldn't the lids seal?
I have had a 4 foot fence around my garden for years to keep the chickens out. The only time they have gotten in is when the gate is left open.
This has worked for standard size chickens. I think some of them could fly into the garden but they never try.
Around here the thrift stores are expensive. I do better to buy clothing on clearance usually 75% off when it is the end
of the season for the next year. I have always done this with kids clothes. I find clothes at garage sales too.
I grow as much as I can and then can it. Since people...
Wow. I see how that could be really dangerous especially if you are driving. It is great that there are meds that can help.
I hope your husband will be able to find something to do he enjoys even if he has to be on disability. Maybe he will find a hobby he can make money at.
I don't know what your exact situation is but I can relate because my dh has physical problems that make working very difficult. We decided though as long as he is able to work at all he will.
He needs his meds to work also. I stay home and take care of him, the kids, house, animals, etc...
make weird, very loud clicking type noises when you first plug it in?
I have used a stove top percolator for years and recently got an electric one.
When I first plug it in it makes strange noises for a while until it starts actually percolating.
Is this normal or do I have a defective...

It will be interesting hearing how you do things in Sweden. What kind of chickens do you have?
I saw some pictures of Swedish Flower Hens and I loved how they looked.
How cold are your winters and how long do they last?
That is a good idea. I have checked craigs list quite often but haven't seen any but there are some Amish people north of here. I wonder if I could contact them somehow to see if they grow any non gmo corn.
About 3 years ago our local feed store had organic feed but I wasn't really impressed. It contained various grains and a lot of CHAFF. I wasn't about to pay double for that. They don't carry it now anyway.
These ideas sound good but I don't have enough property right now to grow any grains or get more animals. I am looking for property now. I do have plans to grow grains.
I also want sheep for mutton. I love mutton! I don't have plans for any dairy animals though because we don't eat dairy...
That is a good idea. I will call around here and ask. I think the last time I asked was 3 years ago.
Maybe a market has developed for it here. Would you mind telling me how much it cost compared to conventional?
I decided a few years ago not to eat any gmo food myself or feed it to my family. Lately it has been bothering me
that I feed layer, game bird and scratch to my hens that most probably contain gmo grains. I was told they mix up all the corn,
soy etc. so you can't know if there are any...
Basically the "elites" of this world want to reduce the world population about 90%.
What I found very interesting was this link about gmo's in the comments.

I have a 14 year old dd right now. You can't tell her much because she thinks she already knows better. She is prone to be a drama queen (likes being in control) and sometimes has pity parties. One thing I have learned is don't feed pity parties. I used to think let her get it all out but...
