I too am starting a worm bed. I've thought of using something like a tupperware tote. Will I need to put drainage holes in it? or would it be better to make one of wood or something instead? I have LOTS of magic worm bedding.(DH got it for a song at an estate sale!) I also have acess to rabbit...

I have never rendered lard. I have a lot of fat in the freezer from when we butchered hogs, but how do I render it? Do you have to boil it, or fry it, or what?:idunno:hide

Nice!:bow I got two large styrofoam coolers for free, complete with several 'gel ice' packs that you freeze to keep stuff cold. Normally I wouldn't use styrofoam, but these were absolutely free, and my taking them kept them out of a landfill. The place where I work was throwing them away...

what is the ratio of sugar to water? is it like hummingbird nectar? also how do you get the bees to eat it? will they drown if you just put it in a bowl or something? I've seen those little feeder jars, but i don't have one yet, maybe I should get one?

Hey y'all! anybody else from bama here? I have several chickens and some rabbits, a pig, and a dog. We live on a 'micro farm' you might say. only 1.5 acres. But it's paid for. My children are grown, so it's just my hubby and me. Love to hear from y'all!
