I use canning jars, sealed with the Food Saver also. I've never had anything go bad. I do make sure whatever I'm dehydrating is VERY dry before packaging.
This happened to me once. After I filed my taxes, as an independent contractor (which is what my employer called me), the IRS audited my employer. He ended up in court and I had to testify against him.
Yes. You probably shouldn't eat the stuff. Borax is a problem if you repeatedly expose someone directly to it. Otherwise, from what I have read, washing dishes and clothes with it is alright; it rinses away and doesn't compromise the environment.
In a plastic container combine:
1 cup Borax
1 cup baking soda (or try baking soda and washing soda)
cup salt
cup citric acid (or LemiShine, or Fruit Fresh or

I work for the Child and Adult Care Food Program, and we were just notified last week that we must require our daycare providers to serve 1% or skim milk to children over 2 years old. This is the USDA rule now. I asked if it would be OK for a provider to serve whole milk if the parent requests...
Wheat Montana markets their grain through Walmart. I buy 25# bags of hard white or red wheat berries at my local Walmart for around $12. I LOVE their hard white wheat for making bread. It's not organic, but has been tested after harvest and certified chemical-free.
The Wheat Montana website...
I saved money for someone else today by cleaning out my son's toy closet. DH is on his way to Good Will with 2 complete train sets, a grocery bag full of leggo's and another one full of lincoln logs. Also a box full of toy cars, trucks and farm machines, and another with assorted toys. The...
Thanks!
My youngest son made my breakfast: Peanut Butter & Jelly Toast :love
My oldest son, who is in the Marines, called - but I missed the call because I was out chasing those dumb chickens off the road. They have 80 acres to run on - so why must they always be on the road!?!:barnie

Same here. We vacationed in Alaska two years ago. I was surprised at all the homeless people and crime in Anchorage. But still, such a beautiful state. I'd go back in a heartbeat!
Im looking for my first grain mill, and am wondering if you are still happy with your Family Grain Mill. I have a KA and a Bosch, so would get an adaptor for one of them, but I like the idea of being able to use it without electricity, too. From the pictures Ive seen, it looks like nothing is...
We have an old barn we used to milk cows in. I dropped the insurance on it last summer because it's no longer usable. Naturally, a month after I dropped the insurance, a big wind took the barn down. :th
That's about how my luck goes, so I'd never go without insurance on the house.
Happy Resurrection Day!!
1Pe 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,...
What kind of roofing do you have?
I'm thinking about doing something like that with our chicken coop, which is next to the garden, but am concerned about what would leach into the rainwater from our asphalt/fiberglass shingles. Since the rain water only touches the shingles for a couple of...
I usually whip olive oil into butter to make a soft spread. That's one thing my family misses since we quit buying margarine. I start by whipping 2# of room temp butter, then drizzle olive oil into it while whipping until it gets light & fluffy. Then I pack it into small pyrex bowls.
