Good job on your building project- certainly have had a complete turn around with weather, haven't we?
We would like to get the silver appleyard ducks too- need more room though!
Just wondering where you were at with seeds/gardening? Got anything going yet?
I'll be interested in hearing how others do this too. We stored ours in a cool closet, wrapped in newspaper in a box. They were good, but sprouted in just 4-6 wks. They were still edible of course, but I want to have more for next year too. Our sweet potatoes stored better than the white...
Thanks farm fresh- I had looked back and saw that you shared that about the ACV. It motivated me to give it a try too.
and buckeye lady - good point about using a straw. I am taking Vit D3 and have decided to start on fish oil omega-3 also.
Sad to say that I didn't have much relief with Lyrica.
I read on AOL yesterday about some natural remedies for arthritis. I can't seem to find relief for my fibromyalgia, so thought I would try a few of them. One was apple cider vinegar, another was cinnamon and honey. I started these yesterday.
From previous posts, I have read that some SS...
We did some posts on Newspaper Pots 2-20-2010, you may want to scroll back awhile on the Roll Your Own topics. Mine turned out great. I'm transplanting broccoli and cabbage starts into them tomorrow.

I hard boil mine the same time as large chicken eggs. If they are fresh I have trouble peeling them- I will try the vinegar trick and report back! I find them a bit rich for deviled eggs; I like to make egg salad with half chicken and half duck.
Duck eggs make great mustard pickled eggs too- I...
Karen,
Your recipe may be the best part of this week!- I'm going to try it later today and see how it turns out. What a great thing to share if you had a down in the dumps friend! Heck, go over to her house and make this for her!

Thanks! I have frozen snipped chives in the freezer. I think I'll plan a breakfast for supper meal later this week.

It's STILL snowing here in Wayne County, OHio. Off and on all day, but the sun came out for a bit and melted the dang ice off the roads. Hope there's no black ice out tomorrow. Just think, in 3 weeks it's spring.

Very nice intro to you and your projects.
I'm new here too. Your projects sound great and I look forward to your progress (if you have time!). I've been trying to teach myself to knit this year too.

What's the weather like where you are?
I saw that Lehmans (a SS store here in Amish country) was featuring a newspaper pot maker on their homepage.

Here's the link if anyone's interested.
Let me know how it turns out- I'm always nervous I'll make a mistake when I post a recipe. I really hate it when I try a new recipe and it flops.
I need to make some more- it makes plenty so I think I'll make some of the variations.
Good luck,

check the internet to see if there is a bee club close to you and try contacting them for a possible mentor to ask about the bees. that guy isn't worth your time. the bee people around here are really nice and enthusiastic about everyone learning about bees. Good luck. Bee classes are...
Well there you go..........
it's nice when husbands do something like that.
Now- it's the weekend and crummy out. Create yourself an at-home date just for fun. Candles/oil lamps only. Something good has to come out of being cooped up in the snow!
Great ideas! And lots of hard work on your part. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has unexpected "adventures". (Still trying to forget the time I tried to make homemade suet and seeds and tried to render down the fat myself- good grief, the whole house got smoky, oily, the smoke...
I made it because I wanted it to be quick to use (usually in the crock pot) on those crazy days we're running kids around and everyone's eating on a different schedule.
I love to make my own sauces and soups too. Very satisfying to know I can make something delicious that didn't come from a...
These sound good! I like recipes that include oats.
Since I try to use local ingredients (I'm from Ohio too) do you think apple sauce would sub for the pineapple and dried strawberries or blueberries for the raisins?

Would like to see a picture of your ducks and their eggs. Our Khaki campbell eggs are not very pretty, whitish tan, but streaky. Almost look dirty, but they're not. We always have to explain to people what they are supposed to look like.
would love to have bluish eggs. We just got 2 EE a...
