    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Thanks ya'll. I appreciate it. It'll be a rough few months, but I'll get through it. Hard to believe we're coming up on two years. Had a guy come pick up some bucklings last week. He said he wanted more. I generally say 'great' and think I'll probably never see 'm again. Thankfully, this...

Rain overnight after missing the severe storms that went north of Houston yesterday. Didn't really need the rain, certainly don't need the mud - but that's life. Glad I got a new round bale up out a couple days ago. Another follow-up dermatologist appt. for DH today. Hope this is the last...

Right about now....bluegill should be picking up too. I think I need to start harvesting some bluegill this year. Don't need an overstocked pond with itty-bitty fish.

    WHAT ARE YOU CANNING TODAY?

Looks great! I need to get back to some canning. I never thought it would happen, but I need some quart jars. Or - we need to eat some of the previously canned stuff and clear out some jars for re-use.

    What's for dinner?

Shrimp and grits for me. Shrimp and cauliflower rice for DH. Yummy! I try to stay low carb, but I do love me some grits!

I've been trying to come up with the perfect name for a keeper buckling - keeping in mind that it must be a "T" name. First one I came up with was Tonka - cause he's tough like a tonka truck. The next name was Tequila - because tequila is pretty good stuff. Well...last night I was talking to...

Busy week - but aren't they all these days? Listed some goats a couple days ago. Just sold two bucklings. Always nice to get the boys outta here first. Same guy says he 'might' come back for more later. That's cool! Just glad to be getting a few mouths off the feed bill. Had a follow up...

What did you do in your garden today?

More weeding, more mulching. Some more planting to fill in some gaps. I've gotta make the most of the smaller area I'm working with this year - can't have any gaps!

    What's for dinner?

We had lunch out while doing doc appts. and other various errands. The bad part is that lunch isn't cheap anymore...the good part is that I won't be cooking dinner!

What did you do in your orchard today?

Ok, don't really have an orchard, lol. But, I picked mulberries. If you've ever picked mulberries you know that as soon as they are really ripe - they nosedive right offa that tree. My chickens know that if I'm out there picking that they're probably gonna end up with as many berries as I do...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

I still have dehydrated okra from several years ago. This time I think I planted 15 seeds and if they take off that should give us plenty for fresh eating. I still have collards going strong from last fall even though some are going to seed. I'm ok with that. The only thing I haven't planted...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Beans are up and looking good! It's still a little early for blossoms, but I'm waiting anxiously! I did spend a little bit of time weeding and mulching yesterday in the cream pea bed. It didn't get much attention earlier, so I tried to catch it up yesterday. Garden this year is happening...
