Bear is a huge dog! 🥰 Off to a "swap" that's a semi annual thing, to meet up with 3 other BYHrs.....😃. Started as a "chicken swap" and now it's a huge yard sale with animals :lol: Really, parking is a few acres of cars! Couple hr drive for each of us to site. A day away with friends !!

Momma hen growls as I approach but 5 fluffy butts are under her & 1 more half way. 4 days ago one was lost, looked to have been stepped on and shell broken 🥴 had chased a hen off the day before and found an extra egg in nest😖. Had started with 7, 1 lost and now 6 hatching. That's 100% so...

I have chicks hatching!!! Momma is doing a good job, saw 2 yellow chicks, 2 more eggs I saw pipping, before hen growled and pecked. I'll see in morning. 😁

What do you do with it once it's cut? Do the chickens eat it? I think that was something I read snake don't like due to smell 🤔

Dobermans are another -- a friend used to put a house key on their dobies collar for the kid to get in after school. 😁. She was a threatening one, bark & all....but, not if she knew you.

I'm still sifting thru boxes from packing out my mom's house, almost 10 yrs now. Most of this left is more household things. The majority of personal has been done. 😞 Such a job for these things. The late DH things were done just before moms came on. Makes you think on your own "leavings".

Went on a limb & hard boiled 8 eggs. Hate the peeling! But these were a week old, I added baking soda to water and they peeled well. 👍 Made egg salad. NOW I'm thinking, why didn't you save 2 for some potato salad? 😖 Oh, well 🫢 Had an egg salad sandwich. 🤷

It was so good! Haven't had a grilled cheese in maybe over a year ... I'm thinking a repeat may happen tonight, since I haven't planned anything 🤣

Truly this is what we need to do. Didn't you always have extras? Now you fill your needs and that's fine! I'm slowly realizing this 😂 It's hard to retrain yourself. Like cooking for 6 and suddenly only 2. Yep. It's the same, old habits die hard.

Each person has their own level of "need" to be useful, productive, etc. Often we can only help by slyly doing parts of "their" jobs ahead of time. Leaving just some touch ups for them. 😊 Pretty much there's a mindset that says "we still can" but body can't. :idunno we age out. Bodies lose...

I made a great sandwich!! Sliced an Italian boule that I bought on markdown, $.86....sliced some cheddar off a 2#block in frig, added ham, an grilled to perfection in butter!!! Plenty of butter :drool. Couple bread & butter pickles on side. Pure greatness :clap Yeah, a repeat will be nice.
