When I lived in Dallas with my mother, we had one chocolate mint vine that would go from the top of our second floor bannister (outdoor staircase) all the way down to the ground. We would have to trim it several times each growing season to prevent it from getting to the ground.
ETA: It DID...
A great groundcover (but also highly invasive) is anything in the mint family. It even grows really well in shade. I thought about planting some in the alley section of my house. At the moment, the alleyway contains a few shrub sticks, our compost pile and the grill and nothing else (weeds).
Definitely. I have a grapevine but I'm certain it's dead this time. I was thinking about getting some more but I didn't want to doom them from the beginning.

Over the course of the last year or so, I've become a professional resume submitter! I've scoured the listings in the 'jobs' section, always racing for that first slot in the recipients mailbox. I've developed an awe-inspiring ability of...
FF, how did you get diagnosed with a specific arthritis? I have yet to have mine determined as to which kind. It seems to be consistently be the same joints, though. Mine also comes and goes with the weather in my hips, knees, feet and back. In my hands, it is more with frequency of use.
Spinach does indeed have pests. Here I've had to deal with various worms, caterpillars, snails and aphids. I've heard that some people around the country have problems with mildew. It's not a problem here as it is very arid here.
Good job!!
I forgot to tell you guys what I "stole" from the trash company/neighbor. One of my neighbors had put out a wicker basket, perfect condition and still had the tag on it. It is now my sidekick for cleaning. A few seconds ago, I used it to throw a bunch of the kids toys in it for...
It would be me that is WAY off track then. LOL I should have checked first. I usually just go into the threads that I haven't read and ASSUME that I know what it's about. Well, we all know what happens when you assume :smack :duc :idunno
I'm not really familiar with whatever a transition town is as I've only heard of it right here and now. :idunno I guess I'm off to google it and see what it is. :caf
If you are referring to battery cages, you may not get much assistance here and most of the people here believe that a chicken deserves to behave like a chicken and use coops and runs. It's mostly because that small contained spaces often lead to issues (mental, physical and hygenic (sp?)) with...

Fantastic. We eat 5 things regularly and another 3-4 things seasonally from that list. I really need to amp up my garden to produce those things.
ADHD is tricky. I've found that with myself and also Aidy that most "reactions" work in reverse of what they normally would. That means that instead of getting hopped up when we drink caffeine it actually "calms" us. I feel like my body can keep up better with the rat-race going on within my...
Ours is the retractable kind. It goes from our house to the fence post on the other side of the yard. It is roughly 27 feet across our yard to the back fence. Our lines don't have the same tension so the heaviest stuff goes on the tightest line.
