One thing about stockinette is that the edges tend to roll a bit. Good luck with your knitting! The scarf sounds pretty. The videos on youtube are SO helpful!
I thought 2 things:
1. Why didn't she jump out of the way? Or was she trying to stop panicking sheep being chased by a dog?
2. That's why I don't keep horned animals.
My MIL has had lichen planus for a year now. She has a rash all over her arms, legs, body, etc. (pretty much everywhere but her face). She's been to the dermatologist several times. She's tried prednisone, which helped relieve the awful itching but really didn't help the rash. I've read it...
I've read about the wood insulating too much for GM soap, but I want the consistency I can get with the wooden molds. I'm currently using plastic food storage containers, and I just don't want to use those for the soap I plan on selling. I want to be able to add things to the top of the bars...
My mom has tried many crafts, and she took a basketweaving class once. She got a bunch of materials and I made a basket or two (or helped her make them) when I was a teen. It was a lot of fun, and I'd love to make another one some day!
I'm new to this, but I thought once it saponified it was "safe"? And it only cured to get harder and last longer? There's so much to learn! :barnie
On a different subject though, what does everyone prefer for their molds? I would like to get some wooden log molds, because I'd like to be...
Here's a good pic of the knit stitch, and here's a good pic of the purl stitch. See on the purl stitch, directly under where the loop hangs on the needle, is a "horizontal loop"? Then on the knit stitch there's no loop...the yarn goes from the loop on the needle directly down to the work...
Yes, two good ideas! I totally forgot about the fritters (we called them that, the apple pancakes). And when I was in college I frequently made baked apples as a "nothing better to eat for dessert" kinda thing. My roommate LOVED them and still to this day mentions them, and I always thought...
Is there a trick in keeping the texture good for frozen apples? I've frozen apples in the pie-tin shape before and when I made a pie with it it turned out all mushy and gross. :/
And what is the process for jelly making? I've made jam before. Is it similar or do I need to get a jelly bag and...
I have 2 bushels of apples, one of Golden Delicious and one of Rome. The Rome's were a little disappointing...nice and crisp but pretty "dry" and not too sweet.
I'm definitely doing applesauce/butter with the Golden Delicious. I'm also going to dry a good bit because I love snacking on...
You want to be able to hang it and store it dry, on the cob, right? If so, you should probably wait until the stalks are pretty dried out (and brown) not green. Although, you could try picking greener ears and see if they dry out ok (with plenty of air circulation).
DH and I have debit cards, no credit cards. We use our card a LOT and have only had 1 instance of a fraudulent charge. I check our account online very frequently and noticed a charge of a dollar and some change from Payless, and I knew we hadn't been to a Payless. I called and had the card...
