They did fine today. Frequent checks for panting, etc. but young chicks like the heat. I'll cover the unit tonight....close off any dew, winds. It's staying in 78-80 range all night. It's an old guinea pig cage from when DGD was little. Close to 20 y/o and still a purpose.

Same here...late summer. I happen to have an abundance of applesauce I canned, plain. She loves it 😄 so, some of that can be used up. Plus leftover breads I make. No preservatives, so short life. And...boiled a dz eggs & fed back to hens yesterday. Would never do with store prices but...

Aha!! Had to get through breakfast before any other meals. A bruschetta inspired one -- tomato, garlic pwdr, oregano, goat cheese & a drizzle of olive oil. Whole wheat bread on side & wipe the plate juices 👍

Never got around to moving the new broody. She has 6 eggs. What happens, happens. 😂. I check each day, morn & night, to remove any that may have been added. Went out to coop/run where I put the 5 almost grown BOs I had bought & just moved to new, larger area to show them the roost 😳😖...

Nope....didn't move 🤣 just thinking about you. No rain here, so just usual "wish it were gone" humidity. Saunas are good for the skin. Enjoy :lol:

You can buy the preloaded ones at valley vet & jeffers...others I'm sure. Vet type....they have curved staples that clamp around. 🤫

Lucky here because they're everywhere! So birds have a selection. Wheat will be harvested soon -- that gives the birds a better choice before elders are about ready to pick. Then, the ditch bank/roadway berries begin to dry and it'll be winter feed for them. Peanut harvests, next; then corn...
