So HOT here -- no fighting 🤣, takes too much effort. These had only been in there one day. Didn't know where the roost was, or recognize it anyway. Today it's 95 with feel like 107.... Hotter to go 🤪🥵

Even the layers won't lay....
No, they won’t when it is hot. To much work panting. I add rooster booster electrolytes to the water when it is hot. I only fill 2 gallons at a time so I can add cold fresh more often

The incubated hatch is 3 wks old in 2 days. This morning I kicked them out of the house! Back porch has their larger cage, just scrubbed & fresh bedded. It's warm enough & they're old enough. Been off light for almost a week. Soooo....surprise, surprise! They are just standing, looking around 😄. It'll work another 2 weeks. Amazing their dust bathing urges.

They did fine today. Frequent checks for panting, etc. but young chicks like the heat. I'll cover the unit tonight....close off any dew, winds. It's staying in 78-80 range all night. It's an old guinea pig cage from when DGD was little. Close to 20 y/o and still a purpose.
