I vote for the All American. Mine is about thirty years old, and my grandmother's is still functional - all original parts.
Tomatoes are processed for 10 min @ 5# pressure.
Thanks WZ - you answered two of my questions. Nutsedge is very invasive here and that was making me nervous. Secondly, according to their map, we were on the edge but we are zone 5/6.
Were you able to plant this w/o tilling or did you have till the area?
Like sufficientforme, I buy American made products when possible. (BTW - Who remembers when Sam Walton was alive and Wal-Mart had the slogan, We buy American whenever we can, so you can too? Then they showed employees thanking Wal-Mart for saving/adding jobs. Funny, I dont recall them showing...

I'm not from OK, but my sister lives in the Tulsa area, and my nephew is starting at OSU in Stillwater (I think I got that right :rolleyes:)this month.
Our local Walmart is starting to carry their own brand of canning jars - made in China. I can't imagine people buying those over Ball simply to save a dollar a dozen. Has anyone noticed if they are selling, or are you like me and not at Walmart often enough to follow their stock?
I was taught to tighten opposite pairs of clamps as well. I always use Crisco to seal. (I guess because my parents used Crisco - I don't eat the stuff. :lol:)
Check to make sure there is not a nick somewhere on the edge. The All American is a great canner, but maybe this one is faulty.
