    Question regarding incandescent bulbs

I haven't heard about it and I don't see it on the internet, but I do know that incandescent bulbs will be phased out by 2012. My sil thought she heard that they also would not be able to be used in private households. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks, Annette

At one time I thought of doing that for my family tree, but it got out of hand. My dad was one of 12 kids; my mom was one of 13 kids. I worked on my dad's side of the family genealogy and there were 12 kids in my grandfather's family, 10 kids in my great-grandfather's family and 3 that I know...

    VickiLynn - Finding The Balance

Yep, that's momma bear and two cubs climbing down the tree. They were about 200 yards from the house. We had daddy bear checking out our mulberry tree about 100 yards from the house in May. Last year I was walking Dixie and there was a male bear less than 100 yards from us. At first I...

    VickiLynn - Finding The Balance

Our gauge read just over 5 inches. We are just north of the Little Eau Pleine, but the river didn't get as close to the bridge as it did 5 or so years ago when the bridge was covered. The steam out back resembled the Little Eau Pleine. It washed out a foot bridge that was across the stream...

What did you cook from scratch today?

Yesterday I made home made ice cream and brownies. Nothing healthy, but hubby had a really bad day on Saturday. He was going to change the oil on the car and the jack slipped. Luckily he was not under the car at the time. He's guessing $2500 in damage: the radiator, air conditioner, fan...

    Soap Making 101

I may have to try that. I'll be using cow's milk since there are more cows than goats around here. We buy our bagged milk straight from the dairy in town. And if I go there enough, maybe she will hear of job opps somewhere and tell me, or maybe names of contacts at area companies. Networking...

    Soap Making 101

I made my first batch of just plain soap - lye, beef suet, pork lard and water. I want to try making milk soap, but the book I have has recipes that call for fats other than suet and lard. Can I make milk soap with suet and lard? I have some left over and want to use them up and considering...

    "Local"

I remember those days. I grew up on Miller, Pabst, Schlitz and Gettleman's. My relatives worked for all those breweries. I wouldn't be surprised if some even worked for Leinies. I know my relatives "Up North" served it in their bars.

    "Local"

I personally do not consider Leinenkugel Brewing Company local. It is just part of a foreign owned conglomeration. Leinies is owned by Miller which is owned by South African Brewing Company. How local is that? Annette
