Speaking of crickets... I did try to raise my own crickets for fish bait. I purchased some at my local pet store and set them up a little habitat. They lasted about 6 weeks, but eventually died off. Guess I can't ditch the store when I want to fish with crickets. However, the tub o' worms...

Five quarts of charro beans w/sausage - done!

I'll can more beans today. I found some bones and skin from a previously picked over rotisserie chicken that I made stock out of yesterday. I'll use that in some charro flavored pinto beans I plan on canning today.

It's been all around us but nothing here for a couple days. I expect that to totally change, probably starting this afternoon/evening. There's a little system skirting along the coast from Florida. It's supposed to impact Louisiana much more than us, but we'll likely get significant rain out...
