    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

I don't doubt that at all! You gonna take the piggy plunge - or holding out? I hope that one of these little guys is big enough to harvest in spring - maybe April or early May before it gets really hot. Nothing better than pig raised the way Mother Nature intended (or at least as close as...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Morning! It's decently cool again this morning. I could get used to it. First cuppa down and I'll head out to take care of the critters momentarily. Need to take advantage of this weather!

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

WooHoo - my Texans finally won a game today! Had to relocate my pond turtle, Tilly, today. I left a fishing line in the pond yesterday and at some point during the night it was successful in catching a catfish. When I checked it this morning there was nothing left of the catfish except its...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Slept in a little. It's a bit after 8 and I'm on my first cup and going for my second before I head outside. Cooler mornings lately, but days are still heating up to low 90's. Fall will get here eventually, right?

    What's for dinner?

I Alfredo'd the eggplant. I had an open jar so needed to use it up. Put a think layer of alfredo sauce on the bottom of a baking dish, put the (pre-salted and rinsed) eggplant slices on top, spread more alfredo sauce on top and baked. Topped with lots of grated parm at the end. It was good...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Fed the critters and back inside for my second cuppa. WooHoo! Temps in the mid 60's this morning. We'll finally get some lower humidity also. Temps will still go up to the low 90's but with drier air - it's tolerable for sure!

I applaud your knowledge and persistence. I would never have the patience or the organizational skills to pull that off!

    What's for dinner?

Years ago we had an independent fast food restaurant fairly close to us. They served a dish they called "dip fries." OMG - they literally coated french fries in bread crumbs and fried 'em. Delicious - not healthy - but delicious. When my kids were younger I'd cut eggplant into french fry...

    What's for dinner?

Me too! Still haven't decided exactly what I'm gonna do with it, but parm is a definite possibility!

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Woo Hoo! Bubba done caught himself a snack, lol. A snake snack! If you look closely, you can see one of the hens trying to snatch it away from him. She was NOT successful.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Up and at 'em this morning - thanks to DH's low blood sugar. Got that taken care of and decided it was a good time to start my day. @Mini Horses - hope your crusty ol' hay neighbor will soften up a little, lol!

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Grrrrr! I had a guy like that once. I was buying round bales and he asked me how many I wanted. I told him probably 15ish. He was good with it until I told him I could only haul 3 at a time. He was like - I'm going to have to load you up at least 5 times. Well.... yes. I mean he lived...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

No ants in the kitchen this morning...maybe they were hiding from the flood. Not really a flood for people, but if you're a tiny fraction of an inch tall then the 3 inches of rain we had must seem like a massive flood. From around 4ish to about 6am this morning we had lots of...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

We got a second round of weather early this morning. Lots of thunder and lightning again, but this time there was a lot of wet stuff with it. Three inches in the rain gauge. That's quite enough thank you! Waiting for the cool weather that's supposed to be out there somewhere.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

And, they were wrong again, lol. At least right here on the home front we had a lot of thunder, some lightening, a little rain and virtually no wind. There might be a little more out there but so far not much to talk about...
