dry beans, the last of the tomatoes, whatever peppers need to come in before they get damaged by the frosts.
dry beans are being worked on and mostly done (maybe 10-20% left to harvest). tomatoes are done. peppers are done.
cleaned up one of the pepper gardens so it is ready for winter other than me moving some of the dirt around and smoothing things out. hope i will get that done today and start working on another garden that is pretty much picked through now for both peppers and dry beans. funny though that...
made some progress on some junk that was being used as decorations around the well pipe. it was in the way when we had to have the well worked on a bit ago so i put all that stuff in some boxes and left it there so i could take it out in the trash some time. this morning was that time and it...
last night was some chow mein noodles that Mom had made and put into the freezer and then since i wanted some meat with them i took some sloppy joes out of the freezer too and combined them. not quite goulash but close enough. :)

every once in a while i need a day to do pretty much nothing planned. however, today was not one of those days as i had all those peppers to go through and about half of them got cut up and put into the freezer for future chili making (including enough for making some chili this weekend). that...
three and a half buckets worth. i've called the people who were happy to take my last extras and this time they said they didn't need any more but they know someone else who might want them so i'll hear more about that tomorrow morning sometime... we'll see... in the meantime tonight i'll be...
we had thunder and lightning but i slept through some of it. when i woke up at various times during the night it was raining. i haven't checked the rain gauge yet but it is probably about an inch full.
with potential frosts in the forecast today will be pepper picking day and then i'll probably get some or all of them cleaned up, chunked and frozen for chili. i've not looked at the plants in a few weeks so there might be none, a little or a lot to deal with.
