almost 30yrs and counting, but fall of 2011 was when we replaced roof and hoped to have it all set. since then just these little intermittent leaks that have taken way too long to get taken care of, but sometimes it has taken almost a few years between leaks so...
it started raining last night and every time i've woken up it has been raining. we've really needed a good soaker so this is very welcome, plus, i can enjoy a day off from gardening and other outside "issues"... :) :) :)
as a bonus no leaks in the roof noticed as of yet.
if your power company provides an hourly energy usage report pull it up once in a while and check to see if it has changed much.
when i've had issues with the well pump running too often this has helped me compare "before" and "after" to see when the change has happened.
also they usually have...
too many complications and not enough time - pretty much just dealing with what i can as i can and then just letting the rest go until it can be dealt with. i may not get to some of these things for years and it won't be the end of the world if it takes me that long to get to them - i just have...
the past few days we've not even hit the dewpoint overnight. that is very very unusual here.
this current forecast has us down for slight chances of rain this early evening so i should be able to pick beans as much as my legs will let me before dark, but we'll see.
then we have chances of...
i did get out early and got the trench dug before it got too hot and then i came in for a short break and managed to fall asleep for a few minutes which i wasn't expecting... then got back out and finished that garden up so i can get on to the next one tomorrow.
no more grass or weeds showing...
if we all had teleporter booths we could just pop-in. :) (being as i really do not like the pop-in i think not having teleporter booths is a minor inconvenience...) still it would be more fun to be able to go visit some friends than to have to fly or drive across the country to do it.
and...
sounds very good to me. :) when i used to grow a lot of garlic and had extra to make into garlic relish.
i only did this once but yes, i was actually silly enough to go through and clean up a five gallon bucket of tiny garlic cloves so i could grind it in the meat grinder and then cook it up...
yes, and maybe i can get the rest of it done today if i get out there about an hour earlier... we'll see... :) the remaining part left doesn't have nearly as much grass in it for me to scrape but it will be 2/3rds more area and a longer trench to dig and then fill back in.
whatever i don't...
toss with lemon, garlic and olive oil and some parsley if you have it - oh, and eat it fresh not canned (even if the title of this thread says otherwise :) )...
got a few hours of gardening before the too hot came along - not much of a breeze. since i've picked most of the beans in some gardens i can get them put up for winter.
one of the larger gardens is being invaded by a quick growing grass that drops seeds fast, sometimes i can find it in the...
we're hot for the next three day from 88F today to 84F Monday, but then dropping down to the low 60sF when a cold front and rains go through for a few days.
carrot cake last night, the frosting was cream cheese and not very sweet at all. it might not even have had any powdered sugar in it at all. Mom said that she couldn't taste the cream cheese in the last ones she made (i thought they were perfect as they were). the carrot cake yesterday was...
picked some dry beans (and some not so dry but they got picked anyways) yesterday and am sorely tempted to shell them because of hints of what i'm seeing and also because i need to get some flats combined to give me more room for more flats.
it was warm enough to chase me inside after a few...
mowed today, got it done. Mom picked what was left of the tomatoes to give to to someone else who's been enjoying them.
tomorrow i will be picking some beans and if i'm lucky i can get some shelled out.
the weather forecast remains hot for tomorrow and the next day with chances of rain...
