    What's for dinner?

DH had chili and I had a bacon/tomato sandwich. Crazy thing is that my cherokee purple tomatoes that I planted in spring are still producing. The earlier ones were inundated with stink bugs despite my best efforts. There are still a few bugs around (but just a few) and I'm able to trim out...

    WHAT ARE YOU CANNING TODAY?

Fresh pineapples are on sale at my store. I bought two today and am tempted to go back for more. I'm trying to decide if I should dehydrate them or can them? Anybody have experience with either?

    What's for dinner?

Sounds like a good start. I've made it before by cooking the squash and extras until really soft and reducing the broth a little at the same time. Then I hit it with the immersion blender and added some cream to thicken and make it yummy (maybe even a little softened cream cheese if you like...

What are you having for Thanksgiving dinner?

Traditional for us- I'll be making a ham, deviled eggs, a green veggie of some kind, and chocolate pie. DS is smoking a turkey. There will be various other sides from other family members.

    What's for dinner?

We had snack-y plates tonight. Some tomato/cucumber salad, a couple chunks of cheese, olives, pickled okra, smoked oysters and crackers. No cooking - not much clean up! We should do that more often!

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

you can whine, lol. I do enough of it! But, I'm glad to have that part done. Stil have one more side. It's smaller but I'll have to make an angled cut to account for the sloping roof. I will NOT be tackling that tomorrow.

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Stick a fork in me - I'm done! Got the back wall on the goat shelter. It really, really did NOT want to cooperate but I was able to beat it into submission. Or maybe I drilled it into submission...I dunno. Gathered my supplies which was part of the problem. I couldn't find a drill bit to...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Up and at 'em this morning. I started a project yesterday that I'll finish up this morning. Working on a goat shelter that needs two walls added to the frame. This is a small shelter so it's not like I'm building a barn, lol. I cut sheet metal yesterday for the back wall and I'll get it...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Oh sure! But goats can turn into giraffes when they want something you have and don't want you to get your hands on 'em, lol!

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Haven't accomplished a lot today but about to start a project. I need to put a north wall on a goat shelter. Thankfully it's a small shelter, lol. I'll need to cut down a piece of sheet metal. Thank goodness for electric tin snips. At least I hope it'll be easier using them. I've used them...

    hi everyone !

HI and welcome from Texas! I had a grandmother who was very interested in self-sufficiency. She always had a garden and it fascinated me. I thought it was very cool to walk outside to the yard and grab free food, lol. When I became an adult I got to put my own ideas into place. Gardens...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Coffee - yumm! Not sure what's on the agenda today but I am sure I'll be busy. Mainly shifting birds around and need to catch a goat to get her wormed. Friendliest goat EVER - unless you want to catch her. Sigh....

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Marathon day in town yesterday. Shouldn't have been but it was. We needed to get new phones. Want - no. Need - yes. We were recently warned that our old phones (iPhone 8's) wouldn't support DH's diabetes app after the first of the year. ARGH! We spent several hours at the phone place...
