It's AMAZING how much easier it is to use this than the little "Table Saw Miter Gauge" that came with my saw. I can get much better precision and have much greater control. It also feels SO much safer than the flimsy miter gauge. Now... I'm wondering if I should just sell my miter saw? :D

A quick update: I did my 2nd treatment of the root killer foam about a week ago. There's really no way to know if it's working... I mean, maybe after a few years of constant treatment goes by without any problems I could assume it's doing the trick.

Welcome! It sounds a lot like our house... built around the same time and has years and years of deferred maintenance. We're not sure if we should do a huge housewide remodel, or just piece by piece. We too want to plan things out properly. I think our first step will be to hire an architect...

That's a great point! It's often hard to tell, and that may provide some really interesting insight into how we perceive / bias things... especially if our outlook changes once we discover the gender of the person... and if it's different than we expected! :D
