    WHAT ARE YOU CANNING TODAY?

I totally understand, hence why we're eating out of the pantry at least once a week, and quite often several times. I mean, I canned it to use it - so we're using it! I'm going to milk a couple of days before we leave for the trip. I'll try canning it before we go. Evaporated milk has gotten...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Slept great last night for the first time in a while. For the week or so DH wasn't wearing his chin strap my average hours of sleep dropped to around 4 hours a night. I can't function for more than a day or so on that little sleep. The deficits catch up.... Temps are moderate in the mid 60's...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

I get it. Another reason to keep the numbers controllable is the "what if" thoughts. I wouldn't want to leave anyone the problem of what to do with 20-30 goats. It'll be enough if they have to deal with a dozen or so. Enough of those thoughts. They have their place, but not a thing to...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

When you can't walk without your pants threatening to abandon ship - it's time for some new ones, lol. Well, I did it again! Sold 5 more goats today. That leaves me with only 13 adult goats right now. I've got a couple of does and two doelings that are on the "maybe" sell list. Might be...

    What's for dinner?

Tonight is pork loin with cabbage, green beans and corn/cream cheese. Putting a butt in the oven overnight so I won't have much cooking to do for several days. I see pulled pork and carnitas in our future

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

If it's below 50 I'm in a hat AND a coat, lol! DH did NOT put on his chinstrap last night. I'm up at 4am. There's a correlation there and I'm not loving it. Grrrrrr!

What did you do in your garden today?

I pulled weeds out of some raised beds and fed 'em to the pigs. They love them some chickweed! I know it's edible and I might save some for myself too.

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Wow - already Friday. Where did the week go? I'm meeting myself coming and going these days. Still concentrating daily on trying to make the feeding chores more streamlined for the neighbor who's going to be watching the critters for me. I'm not comfortable leaving critters but gotta do...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Brrrrr! Chilly this morning. Yesterday and today our overnight lows have been at least 20 degrees colder than recently. I'd like to go back to the warmer stuff thank you very much! Coffee is the jump-starter of my life!
