it works very well as a cohesive system since all you need is a 1cm measure and you can get from that and some water the units of weight and volume. 1x1x1cm water is 1gm but is also 1ml.

we had a bit of snow last night, but with a few days coming of forecasts above 40F and maybe even 50F it won't stick around that long. some nights coming up though still in the teens.

that's a tough one until you get used to not having as much salt in general. cheese sometimes has plenty of salt in it though. onions, mushrooms and some tomatoes help it for me (umami)

yes, but it is too early, i'd much rather it keep snow on the ground for another month or two. we'll certainly have some snow storms up even into April or even early May but this year i'm not taking any bets on any of this...

all the snow melted, freezing tonight, will probably be a bit sunny tomorrow and that should help melt some of what is left off, but later this week into the 40sF during the day and perhaps some rains. wait 5 minutes and the forecast can change...

making progress. i did get my perch dusted underneath and around so now i'm drying the last blanket i need before i can put it back together. that means i can have a few hours of uninterrupted time to work on the other project i'd like to take some whacks at. :)

i am mostly micro-cleaning. 5-30 minutes or less at a time. yesterday was getting some papers filed or shredded. today i may get as far as washing a few blankets and dusting around my perch here, but i'd like to work on another project and get that done too. i'm not sure i want to multi-task...

yes, cold coming back for a while, but spring will be here soon enough. for a few days. then right into summer.

well perhaps they make more money from the service trips and money they make off repairs after the warranty expires? just happened in our case that we got a call in early enough to have lucked out... i dunno. sure doesn't make sense to me...

they did get the burners cleaned up today and so we are good, but a longer term fix is coming. it will be an added $500 but we're both just wanting it to be more reliable. apparently new furnaces have burners that will rust unless you get stainless steel ones installed but they don't tell you...
