At that age not much helps. I had the wildest of them in a small pen so they were easy enough to catch. However, these guys were all in that 30ish pound weight range and soooo much stronger than you can imagine. Plus, I didn't disbud any of them and they already know how to swing their heads for maximum impact, lol. Even the tamest ones will flip out the first couple times they are restrained like that. In their little mind it's a game of survival. They were all hooves, horns and voices, lol!

snuggle bribes, slowing down, not letting the herd see what is happening to the chosen one of the moment, just thinking about the issues/process and how to maybe make it easier. not sure it makes any sense to you, but i'm here for ya. ooh, ok, wearing some old hockey equipment? good job goalie! haha!
