Wanted to enter a closeup of two deer leg bone needles on the piece of sandstone we shape them with. The one on the right was the very first one I made. A great use for the legs that get thrown out from processing (well, besides sinew/hooves!)

It is true that experience and practice are major factors in learning. You can read how to build a cabin in 20 different books but until you do it, you just don't really know it. DIY teaches you to improvise for sure

@wyoDreamer - I'm glad someone shared this! We've used this recipe before and made "lava" mug cakes by placing a few hershey's pieces in there before microwaving!

So today's update- apparently the word got relayed through their receptionist wrong. Our signals still work. They replaced the brake light switch but said the fire from there relays through the turn signal switch apparently, and something in there is burning out the brake light switch/shorting...

Just a bit peeved currently. We took our vehicle to the repair shop yesterday for a brake light switch replacement, didn't want to get in there with all that mess ourselves. Everything else except brake lights worked, only to have them call today wanting to tack on $300+ more telling us the turn...

Pallets are the best. On a small scale, they're great for crafts! Larger scale? The possibilities are endless! They're great for firewood, nest boxes, raised beds as sumi said- you name it

@Marianne - Have you been sun drying them? I need to get on picking some that we have here and was curious to know if sun drying was the way to go, or putting them in the dehydrator?

The salve and syrup are on my to-do list! Funny how people just consider dandelion a common weed mostly

We mixed up some water, with a few drops of peppermint oil and a bit of vinegar, to spritz our clothes and skin. It seemed to help better than name-brand pest repellent at the store after trying many other alternatives.
