UPDATE 2 nd hen hatched 6 little ones, this time we're a little better off. she's in coop and we are able to keep others separated. only problem was two active wasp nests but we had a cold weekend and were able to dispose of them, also letting momma take care of them. grow little ones. pics soon.

sad news lost the other 4 to tom stepping on them and my trying to step in when i should have left it to the hen to take care of her own. hopefully i have learned to let the other hen take care of her own and block out the other two.
After work yesterday was watering and found a little surprise in turkey run, first bourbon red poult from our own flock. By evening there were 4, 5 had hatched one was stepped on. Hen still sitting on about 6-7 eggs. And still have another hen sitting. She's about a week and a half behind. We...
wife and son picked wild blackberries and we put them up as freezer jam. had some this am w/breakfast on toast,yummmmmmmm. also put up blueberry and had that on pork chops. can't wait to have them on our own chops.
has anyone heard any more about this? last i heard there was a hedge fund that was asking to split up the company as they figured it was worth more that way. any opinions on the sale?
2.00 dozen and we are selling every thing we can. the hens are paying their way and we get our eggs. we're selling them at our local college campus. when we go to farmers market we get 2.50. got to help pay for gas.
we had two batches from them last year. had 6 dead on arrival. called and they asked if we wanted a refund or replacement chicks on another order. we took the chicks on our next order. they grew very well and forged in the tractor we use. we'll check out central also.
ball blue book says 8 minutes blanching for 2 dia. corn in 6-8 quqrts of boiling water start count when put in cool in cold water for same amount as blanch time dry corn. we wrapped our ears in plastic wrap then into freezer bags. taste of summer this winter when the snow flies.

we lost 41 3 week old broilers to coons. had to move them into the yard. we sell these birds and this was a major hit. anyway that's why they call it farming. :barnie
give them away,yeah right. people will cross the street to avoid you, they will change their phone,e-mail, and in the most extreme cases they have been known to move. lol :ep :barnie
