That scriture is one that has been in my heart for many years and It has helped me threw many a tough time. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of...

Is anybody here as afraid as I am?

Up until last Friday my husband worked for a window manufacturing company. As you may have guessed he no longer works there due to cut backs. He was one of the last guys to be let go and I am pretty sure the company is closing down. We have six kids and 2 of them are babies. Right now I am so...

Do you have SS friends? Or do your friends think you are weird?

LOL I am definitely an oddity here. Everyone I know are more into getting there hair and nails done than making soap, or bread, or gardening, etc. Not to mention the chickens and my goat dreams. I find I have little in common with family and friends and they rarely come around anymore. Funny...

    raised beds

WOW great ideas. I actually have an old tub here that the turtle lives in, we made it so a pump, pumps water threw the faucet and it looks like the water was left on. Maybe I could get a old toilet and a sink fixture and plant in those then it would look like a bathroom in the corner of my yard LOL.

    raised beds

Our house sits at the back of an acre and a quarter so I only have "Front yard" space. When I built the chicken coops out there I was the talk of the neighborhood for a few months and everyone drove by real slow to look at them LOL. Then we put the big garden in and the same thing happened...

    Who is homeschooling this year?

For one thing, The united states is usually portrayed as the hero's of world war ll when in reality we did not involve ourselves until we were attacked despite Roosevelt being fully aware of the atrocity taking place. Russia in my opinion was the hero of world war ll. We were begged by Churchill...

    Who is homeschooling this year?

We are homeschooling for the 8th year. Our kids have never been in public school and by the grace of God never will be. There are so many reasons why I home school and as the kids around here get older I just keep adding to that list. What actually got us started though was that my oldest...

    Phone Bills--UGH

I recently decided to go over all my phone charges with the phone company myself. I just really wanted to know exactly what I was being charged for. What I found out was that for the last year I have been paying for my DSL and someone else's dial up. That's an extra 18.95 a month. They are still...

    I am the Goodwill Goblin.

My father-in-law knows I make bread every day so last weekend he found a bread machine at a yard sale and bought if for me. I think the only down fall in my case is it takes about 2 to 3 loaves of bread a day for my family and it takes 3 hrs. a loaf in the bread machine so mine would have to be...

    Automatic dishwasher soap

I have been making my own laundry detergent, spray cleaners, and baby wipes for some time now and find they work just as well as anything I have bought before. Recently I was given a dishwasher by a friend who was remodeling her kitchen. I must say it is a huge help for me in the kitchen...
