CROCKPOT...if you don't have one you can find one at the nearest secondhand store for just a few dollars. Throw in ground meat (turkey, chicken, pork or beef) with a couple of cans of beans and some seasoning and you've got lots of chili. A crockpot is a handy way to make pulled pork as well...
I have an occasional (that's every couple of years) surge of "sugar ants" around the windows, especially in the kitchen. I spray them with Windex with ammonia (perhaps just ammonia would work) - then wipe it up. It kills them immediately and apparently once you've blasted the little groups...
