We have 2 single sit ins & a double sit on.
I've semi fitted the singles out but not completely done yet.... Only been out once since we got them..... Just never seem to have time yet.
So far I have seats, rod holders, kayak anchors, x 3 kayak rods (smaller), fish finder.
I purchased a couple...
Thanks Mini Horses :)
Peppers calf was separated from her a few days after calving. Our neighbours who gave us Pepper kept the calf.
I milk her once a day around 10am. But she got mastitis in one udder not long after we got her home so I was hand milking that one twice a day till clear. And...
Wohooooooo! DH had some pics of our first attempt at milking :)
Tempting Pepper into her stanchion with some oats.
Transferring the milk before clean up.
Pepper munching after milking under the watchful eye of Hunter while I clean up.
Yay! Hunter was well for Christmas. Turns out he had an ear infection ontop of a stomach flu. Poor little guy. But he is running around enjoying his Christmas prezzies & just loving the holiday spirit...... He loves to sing Xmas carols hehe.... It's so cute to watch.
We didn't get to do our...
Hi all....
I can't believe how busy the last month has been.
My father who lives up the road from us, went in to hospital last week for his right hip replacement operation. So we have been busy busy taking him down for surgery, looking after his place, and our own. Christmas is nearly here so we...
I was the same before moving here. The old water wheel was already in place so went with that idea.
I don't know much but the basics. But I still am in awe at the fact we did it :)
That's what's so neat about family trees. It's like a history novel/journal with so many different chapters... Your tree sounds very interesting.
Yes 1 race, the human race! :)
It is a beautiful & rugged place. I love it. So many little magical places tucked away off main roads. And no matter where you go compared to some countries, it's not really too far to drive till you're at a beach.
I have started my journal in the journal section & have a few pics there plus...
The South Island has some beautiful scenery.

Where we are up the far North is a bit more tropical but we live in a valley & it still gets quite cold here. Lots of rain.
Sumi, I was quite nervous watching him lift the stove & move it through the porch onto a platform sitting on skates. I knew if he dropped it, it would have smashed through the porch. But he knows his digger so well. He did it with ease. Getting it inside through the slider doors & into it's...
hi, does anyone here on the forum go kayak fishing?
I use to kayak when I was younger and purchased a few sit on kayaks a few years ago and started purchasing the basics to fit them out.
Would love to hear from anyone who does.
Okay so I'm not an expert in this area but this is what we have.
Our water wheel is around 2.4 metres in diameter.
We have a header pond behind it which diverts from one of the rivers running through our property. Our neighbor is an engineer and calculated the height and fall to the wheel...
For anyone wondering. I am half Maori (my mother). The rest of me is french, spanish, Scottish :P. My Maori tribe is Ngati Mahanga which is a sub tribe of Tainui. Tainui was one of the first canoes to reach Aotearoa (New Zealand).
Thanks :) I've documented everything in pics and video since we moved in. It's a confidence boost to look back on what we started with and where we are now.... Oh I've got many more pics lol (pic crazy here) lol
