    Special Request

*This is not an attack on anyone here, more a reaction to the blatant lies running wild online today* So much has been twisted, overblown by twitter bots. The majority of the country is not even in lockdown, no masks and certainly no forced vaccines. This fear online does not exist in the...

Yes! I totally agree. I have found that too with some rescues. Even rabbit rescues were super invasive! Its quite off putting. Some breeders are a bit like that too now, wanting to keep in touch with regular updates and home visits, desexing contracts and specific trainers. I just want to tell...

What did you do in the garden today?

Today I will be moving pots in so I can let the duck roam the courtyard. Bonus weight training!

    What's for dinner?

Another day of roast beef, this time from the freezer stock. Cant believe that I am not sick of it yet! Need to use the last of the potatoes and pumpkin before my next shopping trip.

    Weather

Clear and cold here today. Still slippery mud on the driveway, I discovered when putting the bins out on the verge last night!

    SS cafe

Yeah, all of my best animals have been given to me for free. Even my best show horses were free! So it gets old quick when people assume wanting something size or breed specific is out of greed or selfishness. My family dog growing up was a bull dog bitza, lovely girl and lived until 18 years...

I tried to palm some duck eggs off to the neighbours but no interest. So today I left two for crow waiting patiently on the wisteria. I dont mind having big birds like that hanging overhead just before snake season. The corner of the garden is underwater again and it is cold today. I am going...

    pear harvest

Yes I agree. I tend to pick mine when hard as if they are left to get ripe and softer, they drop off the tree! I also dont mind a diced crisp pears in salads, goes lovely with rocket. I put them in hot self saucing pudding before they ripe and they seem to melt into it beautifully. Pears are...

I love relish and spreadable pickles, but I am USELESS at recipes! I hope you've found a good one.

    What's for dinner?

I have cooked so much the last couple days, so the next couple days will be spent eating it all! I did a huge roast beef with roast veggies the other night. Just finished off the BBQ chicken with Mac and Cheese. Found a beautiful boysenberry yogurt at the shops so have got stuck into that too.

    Goodbye? Penpals?

I have had penpals for decades :) I love handwriting letters but over the years the postage costs add up... So I rarely send anything through snail mail anymore as chatting online via email, forums or chat rooms is much quicker and MUCH cheaper. Why are people leaving? I feel quite detatched...

    Weather

Beautiful rain here again! Not constant, the clouds blow over, drop a bit and move on. Its lovely! The ducks are happy again with puddles to play in. I was happy last night falling asleep with the sound of rain on a tin roof. The mulching is happy because it rained both before and after I laid...

Mum just left, her little dog didnt want to go! He's a real city-type dog, goes to cafes and doggy day care and so on, but I think he really loves his visits here. He was so settled and sweet with the bunnies. He helped me to round up the ducks at night and was so proud of himself. I doubt he...

    Little Creatures

Magpies are doing their swoop. Im a few hundred metres from where they nest, but they do a non threatening low glide over my head in the afternoon just to let me know they are there. Also seen a baby blue wren eating bugs off my car.

    Special Request

This is definitely NOT happening because Australia has a shortage of vaccine... More people are pleading for access to the vaccine than the (small) number of people who attended the sydney protests. They havent even rolled out the vaccine to my age group yet - it is literally not available. So...

    Little Creatures

I have a new holland honeyeater hanging around my garden gate and getting very agitated when I go out there , so I suspect a nest in the area! Hopefully it learns to see me as NOT a threat cos I go out there a lot. There is also a tiny, tiny baby bobtail lizard living along the back fence. I...
