Well... WAY too early for us to have spring..... berms along the highways are still higher than my car... BUT, the road was mostly clear of snow and ice.... AND ...
THERE WAS ROAD CONSTRUCTION!!!!!!
So... it must be spring, right? :idunno
So... an evil 40 today at my house... but with the ground so cold... no slush... just ice.
So yes... I fell on the way to the car..
Not bad.. just a bit bruised on one knee. Ya know... (even before the fall today) I have trouble remembering which one is my "good" knee! They both...
You can also just drink the sap water.
We take a birch branch, bend it down, pinch off the buds, rubber band a plastic bag over it.
The sap fills up the bag. No, NOT a gallon worth... but it can be done with small trees or even saplings. We use it as a spring tonic... drink it as is.
C.c.c c.cold
Been deep cold long enough now, that the cold has settled into the house.
We just have NOT been good at keeping the stove blaring a full 100% of the time... which is needed at these temps.
Highs of 5.
That kind of downward spiral sucks rocks.
Horrid,horrid, horrid.
I am deeply sorry for the pain, and frustration of it all. For me (with my dad) it felt like a series of deaths or losses. I would morn what had been lost, get used to the new normal... and then, of course, more loss. :hugs
Ha!!! Power back on!
We were setting up to cook stew on the woodstove....
But now the many options of electricity have returned!
Yeah... and it being January, and overcast... at 2pm spouse put on a headlamp in order to peel potatoes!
No power here.
My needy renter called me to tell me she had no power.
I asked her if she had checked the website for the utility company.... or had reported the outage to the utility company.
Really....
