Tried and true bar soap recipes?

Goat milk soap is only as good as the formula behind it (formula minus the goat milk aka same formula using distilled water). If that formula results in a hard, super gentle bar, chances are you'll love the same bar using goat milk in your lye solution.

Hi, y'all. I'm the OP of this thread. I love how it's taken shape over the years. I realize that the original recipe has been lost since I ended my blog but I'll see about getting it up again here in print so it can be tried again. It's really delish. ;)

Wooo, it's been a long time since I've been here. Moolie, the black soap (I think it looks like Ding Dongs, lol) is pine tar soap. It is actually a very dark brown. :) Dishwasher tablets.....I'll have to look up the recipe and get back to you. It's been a while since I've made it.

It's been a long time since I've posted here. I'm still using the rosemary/mint vinegar spray cleaner and love it. I don't think I'll use anything else again. I've been making a few other things, too. Dishwasher tablets Liquid soap (paste and diluted pictured) for hand wash, dishwashing...

Spring Cleaning product PICS?! - soaps, laundry, cleaners, etc.

I had a few scraps of Zote bar laying around w/o the wrapper. They must have been at my house for at least 6 months like that. When I grated them, the normally soft bar was rock hard and grated into fine powder perfect for making laundry soap.

Spring Cleaning product PICS?! - soaps, laundry, cleaners, etc.

Quite by accident, I created a wonderful stain removal gel! I was lazily cleaning out my crockpot after making a test batch of soap. I put some water in the crock and forgot about it. Two days later......it was perfectly gelled. What kind of soap was I trying to clean up? Eucalyptus Mint...

Spring Cleaning product PICS?! - soaps, laundry, cleaners, etc.

I soaked our stove top drip pans in water and herb vinegar for a while then scrubbed them with baking soda - they came out cleaner than other times I've cleaned them. The vinegar worked will on the greasy stove top, too.

Oooh, I'm going to try the citrus vinegar, BarredBuff. We go through citrus like crazy here so why throw them away, right? I think my boys will like the smell of the citrus better then the rosemary mint. Maybe they won't protest cleaning so much. :D And I guess I'm on the right...

Rabbit nest box from pallet wood

LOVE the nest box but I'm partial. lol I have helped make nestboxes before so I can appreciate your handiwork. I like your design because it is a year 'round nest box. You can use it in summer because of the wird floor. In winter, just cut out a cardboard insert to place in the bottom for...

Help? Goat milk yogurt....runny, a bit stringy :(

Thanks, Donrae. I thought about straining it, too, but quickly realized that it went straight through the butter muslin (made a sticky mess!) so I guess I should use something more like a thin pillowcase. :/ Fyi, I *think* it smells and tastes okay. I was hoping for a little more tang but...

Help? Goat milk yogurt....runny, a bit stringy :(

I tried making my first yogurt in a crock pot. Using two quarts of pasteurized goat milk, I took the temp up to 180 then cooled to 115 degrees. Added about 1/2 - 2/3 cup plain Dannon yogurt mixed in w/some of the warm goat milk and then wrapped up the crock pot in a blanket to sit overnight...
