I bought a large dual fuel generator last year. The plan is to hook it up on our exterior propane tank. Its a 50 gal one. With that I can keep two freezers and pare down to one frig, to keep them running. Sadly, hubs refuses to start up the generator, put a load on it, and make sure its maintained. Oh it will be fine, honey....

Water is stored. Food is stored. First aid is stored. Paper and plastic ware. Solar lanterns, tall glass candles, power banks for phones. Verbal plan of how to bug out if its a wildfire, keeping the crates and pet food stored together. I have three life straws and since we have a weeping spring on one hillside, I can gather water from it and use the life straw if things got desperate.

I keep three BBQ propane tanks full. I have heavy restaurant quality pots and pans (used) for cooking on the BBQ. I really want to purchase a butane stove too. $$$

Heat in the winter? No wood stove here. I have a propane heater, Mr Buddy, in the shop, that I'll bring up. I also have a large tent to set up in one of the bedrooms for all of us to huddle together.

I read books. Hubs and son don't. They will be on their own for entertainment.
Wanted to add, good call on life straws :). My son and I took extended days/nights hike/camp trip in the Mark Twain national forest. I packed in no water, at 8 lbs a gallon it can be a lot to pack. See a spring, get hydrated via life straw. I used the life straw for the entire trip with the exception of water from McCormack (sp) lake water and purification tablets for morning coffee. Didn't get Ill and I'm still alive. So water purification tablets might be helpful also.
