Very interesting! :) In NY that would be quite a feat! Here? Not so much. I've done it for years! :D

I found a recipe or meal listed on there that I want to try...black bean and avo sopes.

I just like finding new ideas...and when they are cheap healthy meals, even better!! :)

That caught my eye too. I adore black beans and avacado. I could eat 2 avacados, with just a little salt or garlic, all by myself.

Oh, quick meal that is awesome. Saute some broccoli in a little butter until it turns bright green and just barely starts to brown at the edges. Toss it in a bowl, add some sesame seeds, salt, garlic & diced up avacado. Talk about yum!

I was just fiddling in the kitchen, trying to figure out how to use up the last lonely avacado. I looked at the broccoli (which I had already sauted) and just tossed it in & stirred. The avo sorta melted on the hot broc. It was FIHHHNE, as my MIL would say.

Oh man, if my avocado tree ever starts producing, that is what I will try first. The black bean recipe, not the broccoli. ;)

Last winter we were spending $150 a month on groceries. That included food for dh and I, foods we made to donate to church events/ministries, and feed for 15 chickens and 1 Great Pyr.
