Wife and I needed a little vacation. So we went on a little road trip and saw family and friends. We've been to illinois, kentucky, tennessee, south carolina, north carolina, virginia, west virginia and indiana. Nice to see some family and friends. Really not much traffic to speak of and the roads were ok, regular unleaded anywhere from $2.79 to $3.49 a gallon ...

We were very surprised how some cities have taken a massive dive, nashville tn and richmond va were both very sad places. Had to pee, stopped at a gas station right outside of nashville. Men's room had blue colored lights and a needle dispensary hanging on the wall (insert sharp end in first) - crazy... I sanitized my hands real good, as soon as I got out of that gas station.

Glad to be back home

Richmond is pretty bad anymore. I don't want to go there for anything.
Should've dropped me a note, if you came through the Shenandoah valley would have been happy to meet and eat a bite with you. But you may have been here while I was up in NH at my dad's funeral services. Glad you got to visit with family though.

Yep I can verify richmond va, probably best to just stay away from, if you can I guess. You would think they could at least cleanup the garage on the sides of the interstate, and then bush hog, it's pretty bad. So bad that we saw 3 wild hogs digging through some black trash bags on the side of the interstate. It made me sad to see that. I told my wife, pray we don't get a flat tire around here.

Very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. While on the road we got news of a friend that also passed, it was her time to go to heaven.

Well I told you about low points. Not interested in the high points? I'll share the funniest point for you all, I hope you get a smile on your face.

So here we were on I64 in Virginia, headed to West Virginia turnpike. In my wife's suburban with a loaded down dual axel UHaul trailer in tow. My wife loves the mountains, she just doesn't like to drive through the mountains, so I drive them.

I start seeing signs for step grade next 5 miles, trucks use right lane only and also trucks check brakes before next exit. I get in the left lane while my wife is holding on to that bar so tight her hand is red. I commented holding on to that bar that tight is gonna make your hand hurt. She said stop looking at me a watch the road. I said but you're beautiful to look at. She said if you don't watch the road, I'll become ugly real quick. I said nah... Even when you think your ugly, you're still beautiful. She said just stop and watch the road please. I laughed and said yes ma'am.

Then it came a downpour, I had the windshield wiper on full flap. My wife said why are you in the left lane. I said well you want to get schmuched between two semis if there brakes fail? She no, stay in this lane. I replied yes ma'am.

So there I am minding my own business, pouring down rain, tension coming off my wife so thick you could cut it with a knife, wife thinking holding on to that bar for dear life, will save her from what, I don't know... Then out of the blue up jumped a lane closure (my lane) I start trying to find a space in the right lane and just made it in before the lane closed. Then that woman's voice from my wife's cell phone says "lane closure ahead, merge right". My wife looks at her phone and says "YOU THINK?, A LITTLE LATE AREN'T YOU!" I busted out laughing so hard, I had tears flowing out of my eyes. I didn't used to care much for GPS, But now I like GPS, my wife yells at the GPS instead of me
