I just got nailed with Tony about this.
He got a crown about 5 years ago. Now the tooth underneath is effected and needs work...then a new crown has to be put on. $1200
Insurance will not pay 1 dime. Crown work on a crown is covered every 8 years. My luck.
Tony's dental ins. is great coverage. We do pay little when stuff is covered. His company has great benes. at low cost to us. So I am a lucky person....but sure not lucky on this crown!
I am lucky on my dentists too. I can always get into my dentist very quick if an emergency, he has limited hours on Friday and won't take an emergency or anything. BUT for me, dental emergencies can be handled fast. Key is, you have to be established there...you have to go for the cleanings and checkups etc. to be an active patient. If you are active with them, you get thru the door all the time when needed fast.
