All I want for Christmas is ....

I am STILL going to ask for canning jars, lids, and a new waterbath canner. I told my son I wanted a pasta machine. Then he saw the prices....guess I wont be getting that! LOL

Have you checked your local thrift shops, freecycle or Craigslist? Our local thrift, which usually overprices everything just had a complete hand crank pasta machine with dies (made in Italy) for $10.

Is it still there? Did it have the ravioli attachment?

Okay it sounds pitiful, but kids are the only ones who get gifts around here. We don't get each other gifts, unless it is something really needed. My dh and i both grew up really poor and that is how both our families did it and now we are still technically below the poverty line, even though we are making it well enough to afford internet and such, we still do do not give adults in the family gifts nor do we recieve them from them since they are like us. But if I were to choose something then it would be.....A MILK GOAT!!!!!

we do not give adults presents here and Tony and I exchange one gift--something we know we want.

Christmas is for kids! Adults can buy whatever they want thru the year--but on one day Santa brings kids presents.

That would be funny EXCEPT for the fact that I just got back from the dentist. Remember my root canal? !! I should sing All I want for Christmas is... to pay off my teeth!

OH it's funny here, because our oldest DS just lost his two front teeth!

I do hope you are feeling better since your root canal.

All is well they got my crown put on just fine. Now I can chew again!!

A milk goat is a great Christmas gift and one that keeps on giving!

Hubby and I don't exchange gifts either. I agree about the gifts part being for the kids.

We never told our kids that Santa was real. We just told them it was a game that people liked to play and not to spoil it for others. They still had tons of fun just like the other kids.

We were living off of one income and had very little to spend of gifts. I used to actually give the kids a dollar amount and then let them decide what they wanted most. The stocking stuffers were always very small but a complete surprise.

My kids now are almost all good at budgeting. My D1's MIL claims she can squeeze a nickle tighter than she ever thought possible.

Christmas should not be about presents and material things. We baked cookies, sang songs, went on long drives to see Christmas lights, read Christmas stories as a family and not one of THOSE things cost at all!

Man!! What I wouldnt give to have that hand crank pasta machine! If its still there, GRAB IT! I will send ya the money for it, and to ship it to me!!
We are haveing to have a complete new septic system put in, next week. Ours " took a crap" With all the rain, and the fact we live on clay...and the fact that the people that installed it were...well...not so smart, and put in in a low spot, and ran the fingers into the WOODS!! Yeah, our whole system is shot! CRAPOLA! $5,500 "down the pipes" So, I guess for Christmas...Hubby and I are getting a "crapper"

Man I feel your pain. When we first inherited our family place at the lake from my grandpa (the drunk). The septic system consisted of a 50 gallon metal drum buried in the clay with a single lateral ran off into the trees! What was he thinking!

A least it was not our primary residence AND we had other family members to share the bill with. Here I sit right now with my kitchen sink draining into the basement floor drain via a culvert pipe - at least until I have the money to pay a plumber to tear up my basement floor! YUCK!

Sylvie, You know that it is really easy to do your own ravioli right?
You need 2 sheets of pasta, lay one out and drop down little even rows of filling, brush egg wash in between, set the seond sheet on top, press down in between the filling where the egg wash went then slice using a sharp knife of pizza cutter.
You probably knew that but I figured I would share just in case
