All I want for Christmas is ....

Oh, great thread that I just got to!

My SO is down in the basement right now working on my Christmas present- a Pennsylvania Dutch style hex for our barn that is our own design with what is important to us on it.

Mostly I want TIME for Christmas. I am employed, but I spend my entire life and psychic energy at the job it feels like. I am run ragged and don't have much time at home. (of course, I'd get more done if I spent less time on the internet :P)

We are closer to Christmas now so I am giving this a kick.

What Self sufficient thing is on your want list this year?

this year Iam asking for supplies that will be needed next spring when I get my first milk goat, like milking bucket, milking stall, glass jars.book on cheese making, and I would love gift cert. for garden seeds or for a few more chicks and a couple of ducks.Oh and I would love to have a pressure cooker, then I can stop borrowing my MILs.Thats apretty SS list, for me, considering that a few years ago all that was on my list was jewerly and selfish stuff.

A used sewing machine with instruction book
A book on raising goats :)
I can learn to sew and raise goats..;)
I found a sewing machine on FreeCycle.:D
So that narrows it down to a book on goats. :)

I don't normally get gifts unless I buy them for myself, so my biggest wish for Christmas (that will have to wait until income tax time) is a good, powerful tiller. :fl

How did I miss this thread? It has grown quite a bit already . . . it will take me a while to read through what you all want for Christmas.

I actually don't want much for Christmas this year. I would rather people save their money. But for those who will insist, I could always use some good reference books. Right now I am considering some beekeeping books.

The only other thing I need . . . that I have been asking for for several years now . . . is a new wool sweater. One of my favorite old ones has holes in the elbows. It is shameful. :gig This year, I already know that I have a new sweater coming to me . . . hand knit too. :)

Well, well. I see this thread has come back to life. Whata difference a few days make. We still have not had the septic put in..." next week, if it doesn't rain" Yeah well....it rains every weel just about. So, " Next week, if it doesnt rain" we will have our septic put in.
We was able to find someone to HOPEFULLY do it cheaper...AND, IF SO...I might get electric run to my barn!! WOOOOHoooo!!!! That would make my Christmas even better....lights in the barn. Ahhhhh....one can dream.
So, IF I can get electric run to the barn...that will be my christmas....and for hubby...prolly thermal underwear! LOL He really needs them so...practical.

Once you have lights in the barn you will wonder how you ever lived without them! When I was a kid we finally got lights in the barn. After that I would often spend late evenings out there just watching the animals or doing little chores. Better than TV! :D

FarmFresh, I agree.....I think I can see many late nights in my future...just watching the animals "settle in" for the night. Besides...when the girls start lambing, I wanna "see" it! LOL
