What do you pay for these? I saw them for $8 - $12 per pound! :ep

I can't justify paying that much! What is your source? Does it cost that much?

Can you make your own?

vitamin cottage has almond meal for $4 a pound here.

coconut flour is a bit more, but you can buy coconut and just food processor it to meal.

Vitamin Cottage...definitely! I paid $3/lb for my last bag of almond meal. The only other place with prices that good is Trader Joe's. Before we got our vitamin cottage I was having family who live near Trader Joe's ship me bags in a flat rate box. It was still cheaper than getting it at King Soopers, Safeway or Albertson's.

That Bob's Red Mill stuff the typical grocery stores carry is good but WAY over priced.

An online source of inexpensive low carb food is www.netrition.com. They have flat rate shipping (or did last time I ordered) so you don't end up losing any savings on the food in the shipping costs.

I don't know about almond flour, but I make my own coconut flour. I get the organic raw shredded or a whole coconut if I am feeling frisky. I shred it and then put it in the dehydrator. Once is crispy dry, I just run it through the mill a few times just before I use it.
