We found a place to rent that had 1 acre in Naples and they allowed horses so we got a carpenter that worked for us to make a run in shed and do some fencing. I had found a nice buckskin paso mare for sale and went to test drive her. She was really sweet and well trained, and of course Becky loved her :D By then we knew a few other paso owners in the area and bred her to a freind's stallion.
Cassy's first foal was a bay filly and we named her Moriah because she flew like the wind everywhere she went. Next foal was also a filly, buckskin like her mom, flighty and a ball of energy..we named her Tess. Both names taken from the song *Moriah*

Way out west they have a name for rain and wind and fire
The rain is Joe, the fire's Tess and they call the wind Moriah.

About that time I was still painting houses and didnt get home early enough most days to pick the kids up from the bus stop so they went to their respective freinds houses to play until I got home. Becky's freind had a trampoline in the side yard and they spent hours on that thing. One day they were both bouncing together and Becky came down on her butt with her hand hitting the trampoline first and broke her arm! The freind called me and said that she thinks Becky broke her arm as it was "all bent funny" OY! I couldnt get home fast enough and upon seeing it I was horrified, bundled her into the car and sped off for the hospital. The next several hours were spent listening to a baby scream it's head off because they were taking blood to measure blood gasses every 1/2 hour...poor little thing! We waited and waited until I broke down a little and started yelling for some action for Becky's arm...Turns out the pedicatric doc was at the other hospital...so back the car we went. They rushed her into surgery and set her arm but only gave her kids strength pain meds which didnt help at all, so we spent a miserable weekend and had an apointment monday for a specialist to re-check it. Xrays done, he showed me the first one and the newest one...the newest one was worse than the other! I couldnt understand why. He said she had to have another surgery where they would put a pin in it...and pin it they did. I saw it after it was taking out 3 months later and it was the size of a knitting needle :th I had been in touch with the neighbour and asked her to see if her homeowners Ins would cover the medical expenses at least (it did) so that was a relief after 2 surgeries. The ins. guy came out to see her and chatted with her for quite a while, she showed him her horse (that she couldnt ride) and told him how she couldnt even open her Christmas presents :hit All of which was true and she didnt have to exagerate on how much pain she was in.
A few days later we get called into the ins. office for a meeting. A peice of paper was slid across the table offering her not only the medical bills paid but an additional $42.000! $5.000 up front and the rest for college. I was amazed!

She had always wanted a show horse and going to a paso fino show in ocala was a huge mistake LOL as there she found her perfect horse! She was a buckskin pinto and show trained to boot. It was love at first sight. So guess what came home with us?
In the paso fino world there is a division...Columbian horses were to be solid colors, bay, grey, black etc. purto rican horses could be any color at all! The judges at most shows were from Columbia (can you see where I am going here?)
They earned enough points to enter the Nationals. The sub junior class was huge! 36 horses entered so they broke it up into 2 classes. Becky was in the second class and after all the entries were judged, those that didnt place were dismissed. 12 horses left in the ring.
They had to go round a few more times and back their horses up and go over the fino board so the judges could hear if the horses footfalls were even. Back to the lineup. 6 more horses were dismissed. She was still in there!!!!!! I was sure she would get 6th...but no...5th place anounced....4th place announced. I was about to faint from shock! She got 3rd place!!! :ya I was crying LOL
The 3 girls left were all in a clique as they were spoiled little rich kids on $100.000 horses. One of the girls was David Love's (golfer)daughter...well you shouldve seen the looks on their faces when they see becky on PINTO no less still in the ring with them! OMG if looks could kill
